If you recall, Winston Smith, the hero of 1984, worked in the Ministry of Truth. His job was to rewrite old news files to fit the present narrative. In a classic example of Newspeak, here's the story dished out by the Feds of why they are moving the Bureau of Land Management back to DC after only a few months in CO.

They claim it will serve its mission better if located in DC where all the Big Decisions come from.... This reads like a textbook example of double talk and The Big Lie.

But they slipped up in the account. They let us know the real reason--only 10% of the coddled govt bureaucrats wanted to leave their IvoryTower offices in DC.

The Feds don't even lie very well anymore. What incompetence.

We don't even have to discuss the rather obvious answer to the question of where should the hdqtrs of BofLM be located-- out on The Land or back in the megalopolis of the eastern seaboard?

If you don’t enjoy the life style offered by Grand Junction, Colorado, you have no business working for BLM and making decisions about the western United Stares.
