Just making chit chat here. In your opinion, is there a particular game or two where upcoming opponents realized that IU wasn’t ****ing around? Where others took notice all of a sudden?

Agree with 76 above. Nebraska. The outcome of that game brought Corso and the ESPN guys to town.Just making chit chat here. In your opinion, is there a particular game or two where upcoming opponents realized that IU wasn’t ****ing around? Where others took notice all of a sudden?
Ditto - Going to Cali and smoking those guys on national TV started things off. Not respected yet. More to do. Showing respect means acknowledging revenue worthiness. Got to take that. Never given.I think the slightest bit of a buzz started after UCLA. That was supposed to be a big test. Maybe not as a playoff team but one that wouldn't be 17th in the Big 18.
I would love it. If GA is without their starting QB, though, I bet the Feinbaums of the world will say that IU "lucked out"after we beat georgia
I'd like to think ND's players aren't taking IU seriously. Probably not the case though. Most ND fans aren't taking us seriously. They think they are playing Northern Illinois 😂
I don't understand. Northern Illinois beat them. Most ND fans aren't taking us seriously. They think they are playing Northern Illinois 😂
Michigan wasn't way down this year. They have a good football team, as we saw and as Ohio State saw. Unfortunately for them, they had a problem at one key position.Probably depends still on who you're asking.
Honestly, I don't think the vast majority of fans take us all that seriously yet. SEC fans don't, I'm sure. Ohio State fans don't. We didn't play Penn State or Oregon. We beat Michigan, but they were way down this year, so I doubt they do. Nebraska, Washington, Michigan State fans...I'd say they probably do. Don't really care if Purdue does.
Nebraska probably opened more eyes than any other game. But it'll take a win Friday night to collectively open "college football's eyes".
I think that's your view, because it fits our narrative. But they won a Natty last year, and struggled to break .500 this year. That's "way down" in their eyes.Michigan wasn't way down this year. They must expect us to beat them, then.I don't understand. Northern Illinois beat them.
Please, please, please, before I die.I think that's your view, because it fits our narrative. But they won a Natty last year, and struggled to break .500 this year. That's "way down" in their eyes.
Think if our bball team were to win a natty in the next few years. All of a sudden, that'll become "who we are again". It'll be exciting, but that will become the expectation again, despite not being the reality for basically 40 years. All the Michigan fans I know think they're Bama right now. With those expectations, anything close to .500 is way down. And that would cause them to dismiss any losses to "lesser programs".
ND has some dumb fans. I was scouring their board early when the matchup was initially announced and they had a poster who genuinely didn't know Notre Dame was in Indiana. He couldn't fathom IU fans spending a bunch of money on tickets, airfare, and lodging to attend the game. Like buddy do I have some news for you....Most ND fans aren't taking us seriously. They think they are playing Northern Illinois 😂
