While there's worse being said in my house during the game, hearing BS, BS, BS tonight was pretty disappointing as you could clearly hear it on TV. We looked like second rate
BB audience tonight.
I recall being at IU/Illinois where some students threw an orange and a ton of toilet paper squares on the floor a few minutes into the game. When they paused to clean the floor, Knight grabbed the PA and basically said "anymore of that sh%t and you can all leave. We're going to stay and play this game but you'll all leave. If you see someone throw something, drag their ass outta here," or something to that effect.
Longtime Bloomington HT columnis Bob Hammel had a pretty good article recently about AH and the trashy circus it has become during the game. I'd love to see Woody start to shape the culture in the stands as well as on the floor. Owning this arena and setting standards carries all the way down to the players understanding that losing at AH is unacceptable. This was not a team tonight that was defending IU's history or home court. Looked like just another game we hoped we could win if we're just lucky. I'd love to see the starting five benched for the first 5 mins of the Purdue game as a message. We're going to get killed and are done this year anyway, use it as a teaching moment. Every loss at AH is a desecration of the history. I don't think our players think that way.
Now get off my lawn and bring back some IU basketball.
