or at least he will be soon enough. Officially he is 'suspended with the intent to terminate'. Basically they're making sure to dot the "i's" and cross the "t's".

I know IU football isn't looking for a coach, but would you be okay with giving Art a second chance if the stars aligned? Baylor isn't a traditional power and he had a good run there. Unless he's ready to hang it up, I'm guessing he'd jump at a chance to end up at a place like IU for redemption.

Like I said, I know Kevin Wilson isn't going anywhere - just posting this for conversation/food for thought.

You must be kidding, right?

Do you know what he's accused of at Baylor? And you want THAT at IU over Wilson? Are you freaking high??? That's like saying you'd give Jerry Sandusky a 2nd chance, which I'm sure you wouldn't be in favor of. If it's true (and we can let due process short this out) that he knew what was going on with his players and covered it up anyway, then I don't want him anywhere near this program. Now if he were to be acquitted of everything, then maybe then, but until this plays out and we learn the truth, Mr. Briles needs too stay far away from coaching, especially IU!

This is "due process". Baylor hired a law firm to investigate what was going on and the sanctions against Briles, Starr, the AD, and very likely quite a few others, is the "played out" result of that investigation. In the Baylor Court, he's been tried, convicted, and punished. He can attempt to appeal, but his best option will be to negotiate a separation agreement and then go. He'll never coach there (or probably anywhere else) again. The only things left are possible legal action brought by Briles and others against the school, legal action against the school by victims who were harmed by Baylor's actions, and a possible criminal investigation if Baylor officials obstructed justice in their actions.

Love KW, but like most folk I don't understand his thinking some of the time.
I don't claim to know anything, but he does seem a bit unconventional at times. Which isn't a criticism. Mixing things up is good if it gives you opportunities and makes for an enjoyable team to watch. In addition to laying down the foundation -- as I believe he has done a good job of working toward -- that may be the secret sauce needed to take the program to the point where they are a consistently good team, year in and year out. The days of Woody and Bo (and Mal) slugging it out are long gone.

How about them Baptists! It is a head scratcher that a "Christian" university has such substandard moral values when it comes to acceptable behavior from its "student" athletes.

I prefer to call him "portly".
I actually think he's owned the "fat boy" designation. It has to come from his background. IIRC, he's used it before when referring to unheralded O-linemen getting press mentions, as in "Look at that, a fat boy getting a plug."
