Are you sure you really want DeSantis?

He didn't overstep his authority for the millionth time. He is granted the authority to do what he did in the Florida constitution.
It's perfectly OK for these nimrods for Biden to issue unlawful EOs, but let a Republican do something they don't like that's under the Constitution and oh boy..... they get apoplectic.

King Ron removes four more local officeholders:

Has anyone questioned the propriety or objectivity of the grand jury?

As a rule, I think the solution for bad elected officials should be to vote them out of office. But sometimes states offer other avenues for getting rid of people who aren't doing their jobs. Wise or not, it seems like Florida gives DeSantis the power to do this. It's hard to accuse him of overstepping if he's simply exercising a power granted to him by the state constitution.

Craze, as a conservative how do you feel about giving a governor that much power ?

For the prosecutor? Completely fine.
For the school board, I believe that went through a grand jury first and they recommended right? (I don't have all the back story kn that). I don't think he should be able to just willy nilly replace the SB but based on my understanding of this, it went to the judicial side first, so ok in this instance.

Craze. in respect to local rule as it relates to school board members a case could be made justice will ultimately prevail.

Base this comment on the following. The grand jury was made up of ordinary citizens. Although the governor used his power to appoint board members after he replaced members that the grand jury found guilty of incompetence, neglect of duty, misfeasance or malfeasance, the local voters will ultimately again elect a board of their choosing.

in the final analysis the power grab as supposedly granted by the state constitution will be resolved by a local election.

Correct. I think ultimately that the public should have the chance to choose, but I have no issue with the executive being granted the rare and temporary ability to remove those positions in extraordinary circumstances and place a stand in until an election is organized.
