About Kristian Pechac and Devin Black? On TOS they still have IU listed as interested and I haven't read anything that says they are going somewhere else???
I dont think he made it through the season on his high school team. I think he quit before the end of the year. Very interesting process for him for sure.Given Pechac's father is on staff, think he knows the program as well as anyone and if he didn't sign early, I doubt he's still signing in Feb. I have literally zero insight into this, but something seemed odd. Meaning if he was at one time a 4-star RB with that tie to the family, then seemed to commit and then de-committed. I know it may be hard for the dad, but I'm wondering if IU coaching staff re-evaluated and didn't actually want to offer? Mean no shame in that, not all players get B10 D1 offers. And truly, he may have zero interest in IU now too. But that one was always odd given the tie to the program and then kind of went silent.
I am not familiar with the other player.
I would think getting Penix in this class ended the interest in Black. I was concerned about him because of his small size.

Looks like he is already enrolled at Pima Community College, so going the JUCO role
Maybe our old friend Paul Szczesny can loan him the pimastud Rivals handle

So did FAU pony up?Devin Black is going to FAU. I hear his father cost him a lot of offers.
I'm sure Black would love to go those schools but he's not good enough to be that high level of QB. He's always wanted IU way more than IU wanted him. I give the kid props for trying like heck to get a scholarship but we aren't going to give him one.How bout Black? It was btw us and Louisville.
His team ended up losing the state final but he had really good numbers

From what I’m seeing he hasn’t committed to FAU yet, but maybe he did. Those are the guys I’d love to have. Guys who just want to be Hoosiers. As you and others have said though, if he wants to play QB, but doesn’t have the skills to play QB, idk if you can bring him in. If he were willing to move to DB then I’d love to have him.I'm sure Black would love to go those schools but he's not good enough to be that high level of QB. I know nothing of a bad dad situation here. There very well may be, but I can assure you it has nothing to do with why Black and IU aren't partnering up. Black has known CTA for years. He tried to use that relationship to get a scholoarship here. It didn't work. I do think the kid comes from a somewhat poor background so walking on at IU isn't really an option and neither is getting any academic help. Black is listed at 6'1" 170 pounds. Having met him, I'd go with 6' and about 160 pounds. He's small and he's not that quick and he really doesn't look like he has a frame to add weight too it. So we brought in Ken Tunsill from Ben Davis who is 6' and 155 pounds as a walk on who will have a full academic scholarship. From what I’m seeing he hasn’t committed to FAU yet, but maybe he did. Of course you can work with guys who are developmental players, but as others have mentioned, his father may make that impossible. When your old man is in your ear saying (“you’re the best thing since sliced bread, you should be starting”), it completely distorts your view. I can’t stand fathers like that because it’s not good for the kid long-term. If his father stayed out of the situation, I’d love to have him. But we don’t need a poor mans lavar ball hanging around the program.
