Watching an NBC thing this morning, they made the point that ND Stadium has been overrun by opposing fans in the past. I was at a game vs Nebraska, probably 20 years ago where they literally turned the place red.
Nice post. I'm headed up without a ticket. If something breaks, I'm in.I don't think we'll be Nebraska, Georgia, or OSU levels of red at ND Stadium, but I think there will be noticeable red and cheers for IU.
We have a big alumni/fan base and the game is very close to it. Tickets are now below $700 and while that is a lot, for a lot of people if they really want to it's something they can afford, and frankly many people can just afford it without much issue.
We show up big for basketball all over the country, no reason we won't have a decent showing for the biggest football game in 50 years that happens to be in our back yard.
Maybe I'm wrong, we are certainly in uncharted territory in terms of playing a game like this one.
Should drop more Friday and into the weekend once the lottery tickets are dispersed.Nice post. I'm headed up without a ticket. If something breaks, I'm in.
Prices are starting to settle a bit. Pretty sure $500 ($1K for two) will get it done on game day. Maybe less depending on seat placement. Many older people don't like to sit in the cold and a bunch of ND seats are owned by older fans. Could be good. Not a knock against older people, I am one but willing to brave weather for this all day.
If no, nothing a Pizza King Strom won't cure. Happy Holidays! Go Hoosiers!
PS, how fun is this?
We turned out big for UCLA. Seems like we had a decent contingent in East Lansing. Northwestern was like a home game.I don't think we'll be Nebraska, Georgia, or OSU levels of red at ND Stadium, but I think there will be noticeable red and cheers for IU.

if the bucket game is any indication everyone in Indiana has a black winter coat (including me)Everyone needs to be sure and wear red hats and scarfs because most large warm coats are not red.
My warmest winter option is a black and gold Liverpool coat. No way I was wearing that to the bucket game. I layered up and wore a red puffer jacket instead. I was shocked at how few other people were wearing red coats. It was definitely over 80% black coats.if the bucket game is any indication everyone in Indiana has a black winter coat (including me)
Add 2 for me & Junior. So that's 20 confirmedMy group has 6 going and I have 12 other friends that are going.
Pizza King is just north of ND campus on 933.If no, nothing a Pizza King Strom won't cure. Happy Holidays! Go Hoosiers!

Brothers at Eddy St Commons really ain't a bad place to catch a game.Pizza King is just north of ND campus on 933.
Those are the ones I feel bad for. I’ve got a good friend that is from Mishawaka and went to IU. He’s legit torn.I will be there with three other IU brethren.
One of them is what some would consider a "reversible jacket" guy. Grew up in SB, went to IU. He will be rooting for IU. I'm so proud of him!
20 years ago was before Kelly and ND was mediocre and not competing for titles. I doubt they’ll let that happen now.I don't think we'll be Nebraska, Georgia, or OSU levels of red at ND Stadium, but I think there will be noticeable red and cheers for IU.

OSU was '23 and UGA was '19. And I don't think they have a choice.20 years ago was before Kelly and ND was mediocre and not competing for titles. I doubt they’ll let that happen now.
Very similar...I grew up in South Bend, went to many ND games over the years. But, I am IU grad!!!Those are the ones I feel bad for. I’ve got a good friend that is from Mishawaka and went to IU. He’s legit torn.
And I’m one of those guys who just grew up near IU in a non-college going IU house. It’s just what it was. So I get it.
Funny story about my friend. He was part of that Penn dynasty in the 90s. He's gotten soft in his old age and said he couldn't put up with the cold for the Bucket game. I told him that 18 yr old him would be very disappointed considering he was playing semi-state games in Mishawaka. He said back when he was playing in semi-states it was when they were laying wood & beating the piss out of Carmel "which is enough to warm any soul." LOLVery similar...I grew up in South Bend, went to many ND games over the years. But, I am IU grad!!!
8,000 seems reasonable if not a little high. A friend of mine who's son works in the IU ticket office said that we were allotted 5,000 tickets. That includes coaches wives/families, player families, athletic department, etc. So another 3,000 bought on the secondary market is possible. That's still less than 10% of the stadium. My guess is 8K-10k which would be a decent turnout considering what tickets are going for.
I’m keeping an eye on them,if I could get 2 for 1,000 I’d probably do it.
One thing to consider is the outrageous fees so you would need to get the around 400 each to get it in the 1000 range and I doubt that happens.
iu/nd basketball games at the acc were always close to 50/50 back in the dayWatching an NBC thing this morning, they made the point that ND Stadium has been overrun by opposing fans in the past. I was at a game vs Nebraska, probably 20 years ago where they literally turned the place red.
That would be awesomeI predict 35-40% IU fans in the stands...
You'll need to get the reversible jackets to flip to get that.I predict 35-40% IU fans in the stands...
Very fun this year especially at OSU until then problems occurred without any answers by our OC and STs coach.Nice post. I'm headed up without a ticket. If something breaks, I'm in.
