Antonio Allen arrested again...

I wish this thread had stayed banished to the past.
Yeah that was a Kevin Wilson mistake all the way and he had plenty of people vouching for the guys "character"... They really must have meant he was a Character:(

Still isn't a good look even though he got kicked off the team as soon as his dark side was exposed. (And plenty of people Did try to help him after that too...)

I mostly meant that I didn't like the tenor of this thread. But I'm glad CTA seems to be focused on recruiting guys that are probably fortunate enough that they will not struggle with trouble like this.

“Fortunate”? Probably not what you meant, but here are my humble opinions on that.

Kids from all walks of life have decisions to make ... some people make good decisions and others make poor ones. In my line of work I see a lot of people who make excuses or blame others for THEIR OWN poor decisions. Taking responsibility for one’s life is the first step to adulthood.

This isn’t about being fortunate ... that sounds like an excuse for kids or adults who make poor decisions.

Not sure what you were getting at, but enabling poor decisions and minimizing the effort to make good ones is not healthy and it doesn’t give credit to young people who ARE able to think before they act.

I hope CTA finds kids who have had to make hard choices (following their friends vs being responsible) and have displayed wisdom and accountability.

Yes, my word choice was deliberate. Your position is fundamentally idealist, and I'm a materialist. The two schools of thought are diametrically opposed. It's interesting stuff, but probably not worth getting into.
