Here's my question to you guys: if your life depend on it, do you trust Fauci or Trump?

Facui, who knows a thing or two more than trump on diseases, specifically CoronaVirus, says that this could not have been artificially or deliberately manipulated ... Everything about the stepwise evolution over time strongly indicates that [this virus] evolved in nature and then jumped species."
Link

Here is my questions to our fellow Trumpites:

On scientific matters, specifically medical matters, do you trust Faci, who has spent most of his adult life on medicine, or Trump whose only qualification on science is his bragging that his uncle had a Ph.D. in Physics?

I think I know the answer:)(), but I felt I would ask anyway.

Most who have looked at it, agree the virus was not created in the lab. But that doesn't answer the question about laboratory research on the virus and it accidentally escaping the lab. Do you have a link about that issue?

I will do some research, and report it to you later. Actually, I do, which say that Trump's accusation that China "deliberately" (I know I am exaggerating, but..) created this pandemic is ridiculous. However, I am not willing to post them here until I have more corroborative articles. I have found a few; I am analyzing whether those are thoroughly researched serious papers or just knee-jerk reactions to counter people like you, who are totally convinced that Trump is telling the truth. Trump telling the truth? Well, but then, miracles do happen sometimes!;)

Stay tuned.

Great post meridian, but you got the term wrong. It was the oringens of the virus that Fauci clued Trump in on...

After viewing that, I think someone might want to look into the orangeness of Trump. It's blatant here...

I don’t know how you could look at this objectively, based on what experts like Dr Fauci and Dr Osterholm have said, and see this as anything more than Trump trying to shift blame. Bottom line, everything seems to point to the fact that Trump was warned of this and decided it was a “hoax” or that it would “magically go away”. He was wrong. As a result we were slow to react and it has spread, thus far causing the deaths of 70,000+ Americans.

If he was actually honest, I think he would gain a sense of understanding, even from those who don’t like him. But he doesn’t have it within him to say, “I was wrong. Our intelligence services had warned us of this, but I didn’t believe it would make it here, nor be as deadly as it has been. Because of this, we were slow to react. That haunts me every single day and will for the rest of my life.”

You sure are much more qualified. Also, as far as I understand, a sister is much more closely related than an uncle. Besides, I am not even sure whether he was talking about his "direct" uncle or an uncle of his cousin's cousin. ;)

I have 29 years of experience in drug discovery research, including work in the area of infectious diseases for 22 years, but obviously I bow to Trump because he really knows his stuff. I particularly am impressed with his treatise on oxidative internal disinfection.

As an aside, his work on windmill cancer is also revelatory. That alone should win a Noble prize.

Wouldn't that be a Pulitzer Prize in Medicine?

You don’t need a degree in or experience with infectious diseases to understand what China did to aggravate the risk for the world. I posted the relevant link above.

With this type of experience wouldn't your time be more valuable putting that to use rather than daily posting on a forum originally formed to talk sports?

I applaud your time on the job and in the field but why not try to apply that knowledge outside of a forum that the same 10-15 post in daily.

Actually, I read an article that says "

What did China do to aggravate the risk for the world?
1) If you are insinuating that China did it to hurt the world, as Trump seems to indicate, you really do not belong here; you should check in a, well , I'd rather not spell in out.
2) I do not need nor intend to check the link you posted. I already get that info from our president already, who knows everything about ChinaVirus.

I don’t know where you come up with this sh$t, I don’t trust Fauci any farther than I can throw him!

If Trump resigned tomorrow, this virus would be gone in a week!

Perhaps, he is doing it?

Is it possible that he is having some laughs at the expense of the usuals on this forum? Based on his post, his work seems to be a serious stuff. As a person, who has had similar experience, I will tell you that one could use occasional breaks, especially if his work is a serious kind. Yes, even at the expense of your friends some times.;)

Besides, is it possible that he may be retired as I am? You can play only so many crossword puzzles everyday!;)

I trust Fauci as a competent voice who adds value to the discussion. His is not the only voice which merits consideration, nor is his expertise the only relevant kind.

Exactly. Experience in branding and real estate development are also totes relevant.

I am sure you guys have been waiting for my "research" on the origins of the ChinaVirus conspiracy theory.;) After hours of search, with frequent interrupts, here is what I have been able to find so far.

Before we move on, let me ask:

Is it more important to find out where it was originated than to spend time researching together how to battle it? I know our president does, but he is a special kind of human being, if that. Would you feel better if you know that it originated in Podunk Junction, ND, instead of China? Would human being served better if we find that it started in Bloomington, Ind?

Or, is it better to spend time and research to look for ways to battle together and to find ways of avoiding such tragedy in the future?

So, the widely held theory, along with the loud drumbeat of Pres. Trump, that China is the culprit and that she did so deliberately with malicious intent, has gained popularity among the usual China-bashers. Is that a victory? What have we gained by doing that? More China haters? Yes, we have achieved that. Stronger anti-Chinese sentiments among the usuals? Yes, you have achieved that too, but then we would get it from them without even trying.;):( Does it help America now or will in the future to work with the world? Is the world "us vs them"? You be the judge!

Does it really help to fight this terrible disease or is it another stumbling block we must face? I am more afraid of worldwide disharmony created by this kind of jingoism than the threat the virus poses. I would like to think that Trump started this shenanigans to help American standing in the world. Has it? I feel he is just making the US as the laughing stock in the eyes of the world. I may live in a different part of the US (well, I live in Seattle after all ;)), but as far as I know, the majority of the Seattlites consider this kind of jingoistic attitude does nothing but hurting the American image in the eyes of the world.

Or, would it have been be better if our president offered sincere sympathy for the tragedy and offered assistance in helping China and the world, including The US, recover from its "tragedy?"

Having said, that this is what I found from Guardian.

1) Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said the US does not have certainty about the origin of the coronavirus pandemic, despite claiming over the weekend there was "enormous evidence" the virus originated in a Chinese lab.

I am surprised that he has finally conceded, or has he? Nonetheless, his hesitancy/backtracking gives us some idea.

2) Assessments circulated among US intelligence-sharing allies have posited that it is "highly unlikely" the virus originated in a lab. Trump has insisted that it did. My point is that, even if it was, it was by accident, and accidents do happen. Yes, such accidents can be catastrophic and can be tragic. The guy in charge would certainly "pay" for the mistake. But condemning the whole nation for that? Come on! Even jinoism should have limits!

3) Multiple US experts, including Anthony Fauci, have cast doubt on the theory that the virus originated in a lab. The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, Gen. Mark Milley, said Monday that evidence the virus began in a lab is "inconclusive." Condemning a nation based on an inconclusive accusation is not something a president of the most powerful nation in the world should engage in.

4) An April 30 statement by the US intelligence community said it "concurs with the wide scientific consensus that the COVID-19 virus was not man-made or genetically modified,"

5) Intelligence assessments circulated among the US's closest allies indicate that it is "highly unlikely" the coronavirus outbreak is the result of a laboratory accident, according to two Western officials who said a shared intelligence assessment points to origins in a Chinese market.

6)The Trump administration has publicly suggested that they would seek accountability for the spread of the deadly pandemic. Privately, they are drawing up plans to punish Beijing on multiple fronts. Sources inside the administration told CNN they are looking into using options like sanctions, canceling US debt obligations and drawing up new trade policies as forms of retribution.

Cancelling debt obligations? Has it ever been done? Is he trying to run the US government like a Trump Casino? And some of you guys agree with that?

I am speechless!:(

I appreciate your work. But it’s really beside the point.

I’ve posted a link above to a series of events in chronological order, containing more links, establishing a pretty clear trail of Chinese, negligence, deliberate indifference, and active coverup of the known highly destructive nature of the virus. This chronology is not a conspiracy theory nor is it speculation. It’s all out there.

You sure are much more qualified. Also, as far as I understand, a sister is much more closely related than an uncle. Besides, I am not even sure whether he was talking about his "direct" uncle or an uncle of his cousin's cousin. ;)

Plus... my wife's cousin is featured in Dove's "Courage is Beautiful" ad campaign, so that gives me Covid street cred.
