Dear President Biden,

Congratulations to you and Vice President Harris on your inauguration. As you begin your work leading the country out of the Covid-19 crisis, Amazon stands ready to assist you in reaching your goal of vaccinating 100 million Americans in the first 100 days of your administration.

As the nation’s second largest employer, Amazon has over 800,000 employees in the United States, most of whom are essential workers who cannot work from home. We are proud of the role our employees have played to help customers stay safe and received important products and services at home, which is critical for people with underlying medical conditions and those susceptible to complications from Covid-19. The essential employees working at Amazon fulfillment centers, AWS data centers, and Whole Foods Market stores across the country who cannot work from home should receive the Covid-19 vaccine at the earliest appropriate time. We will assist them in that effort.

We have an agreement in place with a licensed third-party occupational health care provider to administer vaccines on-site at our Amazon facilities. We are prepared to move quickly once vaccines are available. Additionally, we are prepared to leverage our operations, information technology and communications capabilities and expertise to assist your administration’s vaccination efforts. Our scale allows us to make a meaningful impact immediately in the fight against Covid-19, and we stand ready to assist you in this effort.

Since the beginning of this crisis, we have worked hard to keep our workers safe. We are committed to assisting your administration’s vaccination efforts a we work together to protect our employees and continue to provide essential services during the pandemic.

Sincerely,

Dave Clark

CEO, Worldwide Consumer

Interesting timing is my thought. I know Trump and Bezos have their squabbles. Amazon could have made this public offer two months ago. If Trump turns it down he’s the bad guy.

What makes you think that they did not? We haven't had a POTUS, effectively, since Nov 3. Maybe Bezos left a message, and Rudy called back Amazon Parrots and Seed Store.

I know you would like to believe that they did. It fits your narrative about the Trump Admin.

But in the absence of evidence to the contrary it’s safe assume they didn’t offer assistance or we likely would have heard about it.

Amazon must be trying to help Biden win the election.

Amazon knew Trump was a bumbling idiot who had incompetent sycophants in his admin. That the timing of Amazon’s offer surprises anyone is, well, surprising.

Bezos that’s who. He’s the one that declined to offer the assistance of America’s largest logistics network until this totally random moment in time.

Maybe because Trump and Bezos have been at each others throats for 3/4 years.

Bernie/AOC/The Squad & Bezos have been at each others throats, too.

Maybe this indicates that Biden is more approchable than are people on either extreme.

Does Biden decline assistance and kneecap the country to keep the progressives happy? Watching him attempt to fend off the wolves will be very interesting for as long as he remains POTUS.

I remember days at TI when they had a nurses/health office for their employees. I would think all large corporations will provide vaccines once the govt. allow them to give vaccines.

Saw this the other day - need to let Amazon handle distribution and Chick-fil-A handle final step of executing the shots. 😂

I don't know why we don't have Amazon manufacture the vaccine themselves. They need to make a push into pharma and Healthcare.

We need them in more industries.

Plus VA hospitals, army/navy bases, employers with over 500 people on site.
When the Janssen vaccine is approved, which requires mere commerical-type refrigeration, that will be very doable. -80 or -40 degree storage is more of an issue. It's why so many doses get thrown out.

as i understand it amazon doesn't manufacture anything. they do some rebranding but really they're a tech and logistics company. they'd be so much better at getting this to citizens (consumers) than our gov.

I believe they probably manufacture or contract to manufacture their amazon brand products. My post was more tongue in cheek about the idea that we need Amazon to be even more ubiquitous.

Trump never came out with an ambitious plan to vaccinate. He setup “warp speed” then played golf once the pharmaceuticals developed their vaccines.
