Had a conversation with a puKES fan today
He said Brohm turned down a lot of offers this past year to move on because "the facilities are second to none". They are exceptional.

I don't know how many offers brohm turned down, but the only one that was reported as serious was Tennessee and he turned that one down for a couple of major reasons. My opinion is if he was in on other big offers, someone would have reported it, so I don't think there were many.

I think Purdue is trying to keep him, as they have built facilities and invested and raised his salary, but their offers won't match any SEC program or top end ACC program that comes calling. Purdue fans that I know, agree that it's only a matter of time before he's faced with a major offer from a program like that. While they hope he stays, they realize that 95% of coaches offered that kind of money and prestige do not turn things down. I don't know Coach Brohm, but I'll be pretty surprised if he's there much longer because another solid year and his ability to recruit nationally, is going to make a school salivate.

And remember, he would be have taken the Vols job but their former AD really screwed the pooch in jumping the gun and announcing things before Brohm could get back and do things his way. I don't blame Purdue fans for thinking and talking as they do, but anyone with any sense or insider knowledge of Purdue football or Indiana college football knows it's only a matter of time. If Brohm was older like Tiller was they might have an argument, but Brohm is 47 and in the prime of his career to be able to handle the stresses of a big time program.

Purdue’s new facilities really are top notch. I don’t know if that’s why he stayed, but they’ve done a great job the last couple years reviving their program. I wish we’d take notes.

This is pretty comical. Maybe they should be the note-takers. Last I checked, we've won four of the last five. And, while they had a nice (7-6) season last year, they were 15-46 in the preceding five years. Yeah, there's a new coach in town, but let's see if they can sustain their 2017 success this year, with only four B1G home games (including probable losses to Ohio State and Wisconsin) and the Bucket game in Bloomington. Your declaration of their revival may be a bit premature.

Brohm didn’t stay because of facilities.
He stayed because his attempt to leave blew up at the last minute.
He didnt try to leave. And I dont think he had a lot of offers after last year.No one knows if he will be at Purdue for a long time or not.Lets wait and see what this season brings.

Maybe he's got some of that Mississippi leg in him like the dog, Snot.

He had no intention of leaving PU for Tenn. He admitted he used the attention as a recruiting edge. Louisville would be hard for him to turn down.

Coachspeak.

He interviewed, and if Tennessee wasn’t incompetent, he’d have been the coach. They claimed they offered him, then they claimed they didn't. When the deal blew up, he “explained” how he was tricking Purdue into giving him more.

See ya in Bloomington.
Bring the Bucket.
We’re gonna start another streak.

Isn’t “well, you know, Brohm will just leave anyway,” all you people have at this point. I think you know how it’s gonna go If he stays
Sweet Jesus we lost by 7 after winning 4 in a row. Get a grip.

A lot has changed in the last couple years. Both programs have new coaches and new facilities. It’s just if I’m being honest they’re definitely trending up and I’d say we’re at best treading water. I hope that changes as much as anyone.

I totally agree, unfortunately, but thank goodness the season is almost upon us so that we can put that crap to bed.
