They aren't THAT good. It took small miracle for them to beat Vandy, a miracle of TO's, dropped passes, & boneheaded mistakes by Vandy. 2 picks in WKU's end zone, a dropped short TD pass, missed FG, & a miriad of other sqandered opportunities by Vanderbilt. WKU was badly outplayed in that game, imo. Against Louisiana Tech they played much better offensively, the passing game was clicking. Still I thought Tech could've won that game as well with a little more opportunistic play. Not wowed in either game by WKU, we certainly can beat them, however the matchup of their passing game vs. our secondary does figure to be a nightmare for us, admittedly. Vandy had no problem stopping them though, so, we'll see. They do have an excellent QB in Doughty, a 6th year SR.. Their TE is their best player(other than Doughty), Higbee is his name & he has NFL potential. Their WR's Taylor, Grant, & Dangerfield, are all good. They lost their starting RB Allen to a gruesome knee injury against Tech, but their next in line Ferby is a similar, bruising back, but in general their running game is not daunting, especially without Allen. The best news of all is that their defense is T E R R I B L E, particularly against the run, & we need to obviously exploit that all day. The fact that they only allowed 12 points & 394 yards to Vandy is, again, a minor miracle. Vandy left countless #'s of both points & yardage on the field. Honestly I can't even name someone that stood out on their defense. They allowed 38 points & 580 yards to La Tech, & were lucky that was all. If we take care of the ball & play smart, we should be fine, although it could be like a cash register on the scoreboard.
