Thank goodness for my therapist. He brought me back to reality this morning. He said:

Don’t judge this IU team or program based on the OSU game. IU fans were duped into thinking the Hoosiers could compete against OSU based on last year’s game. The gap between IU and OSU might take 20 years to bridge, and it very likely never will.

A better peer group to strive for is Wisky, Iowa, Sparty and PSU. IU is not at their level yet either, but this is reachable with continued strong recruiting, and most importantly, improved coaching and player development.

Tom Allen will be IUs coach through at least the 2023 season unless he does something illegal or grossly immoral (not likely). Hopefully IU never has to hire a coordinator to be head coach, but IU is 5 years into this decision and needs to ride it out for a few more seasons. This offseason is critical for Tom Allen - he needs to re-evaluate his staff and probably make some changes.

Finally, he said I had every reason to be upset about the Iowa, Cincy, MSU and PSU games. IU coulda/shoulda fared better, and maybe won 1 or 2 of these games. However, flush the OSU game, IU might as well have been playing Alabama.

Thank you to my therapist. Go Hoosiers!
