We have had quite a few negative posts which were well deserved. However, there is light in the tunnel. The offense has real potential, both the running and passing game, and we have a placekicker who is a threat with impressive range. The special teams seemed OK.
So it comes down to the defense, as it has so often before. I wonder why that is always the case with IU football...and with basketball, too, under Tom Crean. Maybe it is b/c Bloomington is such a nice place. Defense in large part is attitude and determination...it helps to have a "nasty" streak on defense. It can be done in Bloomington...Bob Knight and Bill Mallory proved that.
