Looked over IU recruiting 2017-20, and found one aspect interesting.....that being, how productive some of IU's lower rated recruits have been.

From 2017-29, IU had 15 guys Rivals had rated as 5.4 guys. Of those, 7 had major or some impact on the program--Whop; Crider; Ziemba; Hendershot; McFadden; Matthews; Baldwin. That's 47%. 8 have had little or no impact to this point. We also had 1 5.2 guy (Allen) and 3 5.3 guys, one of which was Fryfogle. Note--I'm not counting K/P/LS in the #s.

Looking at the 5.5 & 5.6 guys, who were more numerous, 9/25 5.5 guys had an impact (36%). They include C. Jones; J. Johnson; Scott; J. Williams; Bjorson; Hewitt; Ellis; Sio; Person. The # for 5.6 guys was 46% (12/26)--Bryant; Fitzgerald; Burgess; Miller; King; Cam Jones; Taylor; Marshall; Casey; Bonhomme; Bedford; Swinton.

I also looked at 5.7 & 5.8 guys. There were a total of 14 of them, 5 of which have an an impact to date (Head; Sanguinetti; Penix; S. James; Mullen. The others in that group have been H. Harris; R. Walker; A. Rafferty; D. Brown; L. Tracy; K. Benson; Cam Williams; Robbins; R. Williams.

The higher rated players are younger than the lower rated ones so given another year we should see some of them step up and contribute this season. It is interesting that the lower rated players did so well the past few years as it attest to the coaching they are getting.

Nice work on the breakdowns.
