A good political day. Maybe Biden is shaping up to be what many of us hoped. A former cop and repub won big in Aoc's

Yes I am and in this instance I believe that to be true.
Is that because (1) other countries have in fact already given their formal approval to the same vaccines, and (2) drug companies are required to conduct and demonstrate scientific studies before they are even permitted to submit their applications for approval?

I don’t know how you can support what we’re seeing! Endless spending! Horrible inflation! Govt interference in our lives! Crime rampant from these defund the police fools. Are there any Dems out there strong enough to stand up to the progressives that control your party or do they have to kiss their ring and act like we need trillions more?!!!

WE JUST FLIPPED THE SCRIPT!!!!
What effect do you think the 2017 Tax Cuts And Jobs Act had on inflation and the national debt.

Does anyone really think today that it is paying for itself?

Do you think vaccines are safe and effective?

All joking aside I view the FB issue very seriously. We have two super shitty parties. This is the worst we fear from the Dems. Endless entitlements capturing citizens. Overreaching bs like FB. They want to add thousands of irs agents. Igw is right. You think the billionaires will be hassled. No way. Their shit is too complicated. They’ll send ten thousand stuffshots to hassle small businesses. Throw in the defund the police and woke bs and we may end up with trump round two. God help us all
Ten thousand Stuffshots? You mean I'm winning? All right!

Actually, there is good reason to believe the feds are indeed enforcing tax laws and related statutes on billionaires (or at least on people who claim to be billionaires).

Yes, to the extent that new cases and recent deaths appear to be overwhelingly among the unvaccinated.

Any other response to my question?
Not with regards to the FDA and whether folks should be waiting for their approval to get vaccinated, which was what my original statement was concerning

I don't remember whether the drug companies' submissions to the FDA (with their evidence) are public so we could review them. But, if their science appeared sound, I would agree that the FDA's later, formal approval would be secondary to my concerns.

Meanwhile, I read that the UK has actually approved some Covid vaccines that have not yet been approved by the FDA. I draw some confidence from that as well.

Well, there's nothing else to say after you dismiss a relevant example by reciting that the case actually filed is "political." The case began under Trump, you know.

Have a good day.

Doesn’t matter it started under Trump.

i hear ya on the gun control but i was more referring to biden's telling cities to use their extra covid dough to hire more cops. that's a symbolic slap in the face to the nonsense of the progressives, coupled with a cop poised to be mayor of our largest city. i sense the admin recognizes the backlash is coming against CRT/Defund police/far left rhetoric/policies pushed by academics and the media and that if they hope to have a decent midterm they better get back to the middle.

as for repealing gun industry immunity i too believe that would help - but it doesn't do much for hte estimated 400 million guns already in circulation.
What happened with the police brutality movement was a lot like what happened with MeToo. It started with a good effort to expose some people doing very bad things, but then it was in a constant search for more villains to the point where the targets went way beyond that.

Police officers aren't quitting across the country because of the Chauvin verdict. They are quitting because they saw the narrative go from "we must hold bad police officers accountable" to "all police officers are bad".

They saw efforts throughout the country to unjustifiably cut already tight budgets making their jobs more difficult and they saw regular protests rise up and cops being targeted even after legitimate and justified uses of force.

Just as an example: They saw the top NBA player in the world put a target on a police officer's back after he saved a young African American girl from being stabbed. Now they are almost forced to hesitate in life and death situations.

In Portland, we had almost a year's worth of nightly riots and even police stations set on fire, but political leaders wouldn't let them take action or protect them. Instead, they saw public officials consistently demonize them.

So after all that, we didn't get rid of the bad cops that use excessive force. We had a lot of good cops say that the job probably isn't worth it. They can go work somewhere else for similar pay without the risks and demonization.

I can't blame them, but the consequences are that the neighborhoods that need them most are left with surging crime and no one to properly address it.

In fact, the rotten apples were more likely to stay because they like having that power to abuse. And I say all that as someone who thinks police brutality and abuse are real issues that are being insufficiently addressed, who thinks police unions tend to protect the worst officers, that body cameras are a necessity, and that we need more accountability.

Apologies to Cosmic and IGW for this writing style

LOL Big difference - you know what paragraphs are for.

Wow. Another huge loss for The Squad. Almost every socialist and left-wing anti-Semite was working overtime to back Turner. Sanders, AOC, Cori Bush etc. all campaigned with her recently and raised a ton of money for her. Didn't matter.

James Clyburn now 2-0 in Democrat primaries against the AOC-Sanders wing. The latter group has the activist press support, but Clyburn still represents a bigger portion of Democrat voters.

Nina Turner and her Squad allies raised nearly double her opponent. She lost.

The "evil money" she is referring to here is Jewish Democrats vocally backing her opponents and her statement only validates why they were right to do so.

What does starting under Trump prove? You think government agencies were non partisan under Trump?

Yep, the CBC and Clyburb 1) doesn't want the squad- type quacks going after their members in primaries and 2) understands that black voters aren't nearly as liberal as the loons wish for.

Meanwhile, the Trumpiest Pub won the primary in the other Ohio contest.

She's toxic with a capital T and her sesession speech was embarrassing.

It's always someone else's fault with both extremes.

One of these days Bernie's movement is going to realize that their beliefs are shared by a small amount of people and if they want to grow, they need to turn the vitriol down several notches, stop being so conspiracy laden and start to making arguments that appeal to the majority of the country.

Revolutions are fun to talk about but they rarely happen without conforming and appealing to the middle.

Schumer praises her for forcing the Democrat Party into an illegal order that is likely to be reversed by the courts very shortly
