I have told these stories here before but hey I’m bored so I’ll tell them again.
    I have 2 favorite memories.
1967 the Purdue game,I was 12 years old.
I remember it being a cold day and I was surrounded by fans much bigger than me so I had to stand almost the whole game.
My most vivid memories are the Terry Cole TD run and the fumble at the end of the game.
My dad had connections so we got to go to the dressing room after the game.
I remember how big the players were and I remember them shaving in front of these tiny mirrors.
We got a piece of the sod from midfield that was painted.
I think I kept it a couple weeks, mom wouldn’t let me bring it in the house lol
Second memory is the 87 Michigan game.
It was so miserable out but we enjoyed every minute of it.
My buddy and I snuck in a 6 pack under our coats.
I had on a coat with a red liner,my coat got so soaked that the red bled through my jeans and shirt and my long johns were pink when we got home.
We stayed around and watch the goal post come down and listened to BO cry and whine about the crowd noise.

Fisch has told the story of how strong the wind was and it was at our backs in the 3rd. Then it changed 180 degrees when the quarter changed.

'87 was a great year to be a student at IU. So many great sports memories. I feel sorry for the students in recent years.

Despite Purdue having a much better coach and team during his tenure, ARE had been the best player on the field in every bucket game in which he played. "60" was hyperbole obviously, but it would have been great to see what he could have done.

ARE averaged thirty hits a game. Durable as hell.
