A Biden presidency could spell another depression

Covid is an unprecedented happening, not sure if anyone else would've done a whole lot better.
Anybody would’ve done better. Obama would’ve done better. Biden will do better. Even Lucy would’ve done better! What kind of stupid question is that?

The responses are par for the course on this board. The cable news media has the majority of you in their back pocket, they really do.

Keep the pot stirred at an alarming level, stink the country up, turn police into the devils, defund the police, burn down cities and places of employment that don't have one thing to do with George Floyd's death...Yeah, that's what you folks are buying into...The lunacy of your beliefs is absolutely amazing. That's the frigging party you folks are buying into.

As for Trump being arrogant/narcissistic, lacking empathy, please do some reading/research about exactly what kind of people typically run for political office, particularly high offices...Most are extremely arrogant people, LOVE being in the spotlight, and quite often display these narcissistic tendencies. Is there a such thing as a shy, humble, selfless politician?? I think not..
Dude: It has nothing to do with "cable news." I get my information primarily from AP News, Reuters and the Wall Street Journal, or I'll go directly to a credible source (Johns Hopkins, for example, for information on Covid) for something specific.

But I get it. You've been presented with compelling, fact-based reasons as to why Trump is a disaster, but you're locked in. So are many of your fellow MAGA citizens. After buying into the bullshit for so long, it would be too unsettling to seriously consider that maybe you were/are wrong. But I wish you well and hope your eyes are opened one day. History will judge Donald J. Trump as the worst president in U.S. history.

Anybody would’ve done better. Obama would’ve done better. Biden will do better. Even Lucy would’ve done better! What kind of stupid question is that?

Just take his attitude and actions on wearing a damn mask. Because he refuses to do the easy thing, all his MAGA supporters see that signal and do the same. Hell he went further last week and said those who wear a mask are protesting him. That alone will cost thousands of lives.

I'll take an immediate pass on voting for Joe...If Trump's good at anything, it's his ability to produce a stout economy.

You social justice warriors, liberals, and left wing people better start focusing on what a Biden presidency would do to your 401k!!

MAGA!!! Trump 2020!!! Avoid another Great Depression, Vote Don Trump in the fall!!!
You are a sentient bag of hammers.

... I have noticed that a substantial amount of Biden support comes from those in the safe harbor of government, academia, or other safe employment, or are of substantial wealth.

Somewhere between 91% and 97% of black Americans support Biden and are underrepresented in every one of the groups you listed.

Those of substantial wealth, other than those with Hollywood connections, are old money Palm Beachers who cling tightly to Trump's nutsack, like you do.

This is a prime example of an abject failure of leadership.

For at least two decades after the Great Depression commenced the Democrats blamed poor old Herbert Hoover and the Republicans for causing the depression. On top of this, they gave FDR full credit for pulling us out of the depression.

Since then both parties and their presidents have taken credit for favorable economies and blamed the other party for downturns.

The question remains in my mind as to just how important are sitting presidents and their party to the growth of economy.

Furthermore if citizens of our country base their vote on pocketbook issues, does our democracy rest on circumstances which are actually beyond the influence of those being elected? In other words, is the success of a president to govern in the eyes of the body politic just a matter of timing and pure luck.

IIRC, TD is one of those "I have a Constitutional Right!" types when it comes to masks. When asked about how that might be dangerous to others, his response boiled down to "I don't care. If you're askeered, then stay home."

Do you have any data to back this up? I'm voting for Biden and I don't have any of those things. I am in my mid 30's and this is the first time since I graduated college that I will be making less than what I was in the previous year. But somehow I am supposed to believe that Trump is the only one that can handle the economy? I find it hard to believe that a dementia laden Trump is the only one that can save us.

On the local Nextdoor app that’s the position of 95% of the locals. They ain’t wearin’ no damn mask and if you’s scurred then you stay home! These people who wanted everything back open immediately yet who refuse to do anything for public health are something else.

Let's see . . . tax cuts goosed the economy at the expense of our future budgetary stability, then Congress and the President enacted the greatest Treasury give-away in history with the PPP and other stimulus, plus the Fed is breaking ranks to support ETFs, individual stocks and now individual bonds - at our future budgetary stability - all in an effort to make the current economy not appear as the shambles it is . . . all while Trump complains about not having negative interest rates . . .

. . . really, hoot? 5 years ago I might have agreed with you . . . but nothing about what currently exists in our economy resembles rationality or reality any more.

Sope, the retired economics professor from Butler and IUPUI who meets with our News Talk group on Wednesdays would agree completely with you.

He sees big fiscal problems down the road thanks to Trump and cuts in spending to reduce deficits just when we need more spending. Furthermore the short term boost to the GDP which the Trump people predicted has been disappointing. Little gain with lots of future pain.

Ironically Trump could be right. Biden will be in for some tough sledding.

Wow you managed to get all the "critical" thinkers out on this one. lol Funny how three to four simple sentences can get this group in an uproar.

You have hit the nail on the head, they listen to the left wing media so they are always going to spew that propaganda at you. I just find it funny that some think Trump is the cause for Covid and that Obama left us under a "great economy". You just have to let some people be some people, if you look it is only the same 10-15 that post on here daily as if they have zero to do.

Get to work make some money, if November goes bad you may need. It I told my wife the other day if America believes the ignorance coming from the media we may have to batten down the hatches for four years. It could be a bumpy ride.

I will say from everyone that comes in my office daily, if they vote the way they preach Trump should be ok. But again you have to remember this is Indiana and we have gotten it right for several years now.

I've been connected with banking for nearly 40 years one way or another. And you are the stupidest banker I've ever met, listened to or read. And I've met, listened to and read some really stupid bankers.

While some here are retired, many are actively employed. However we are able to multi-task - - like walk (down ramps) and drink water at the same time.

With respect to the people coming into your office, and with all due respect, it doesn't matter what they "preach." It's a given that Indiana is solidly red. It won't decide this election.

Nice job regurgitating the primary Trump talking point - - it's all the media's fault. Any rational person, though, understands that virtually all of his wounds are self-inflicted.

The bigger they are, the harder they fall. Brace yourself, because it's looking more and more like Trump - - ramp or no ramp - - is going to fall really hard in November.

That quite a compliment I appreciate it. It is always good knowing I’m the best at something, especially coming from a fellow like yourself. I guess it’s a good thing my annual raises and reviews aren’t dictated by you. I do appreciate that a keyboard hero like yourself can sit back and give insults from afar I guess it makes you feel special. Have a great day Sope, unlike you I have zero idea what you do not do I care, lol.

I’m good with that, I’ve positioned myself to make it through whatever is thrown my way, even a bad decision such as electing Biden.

I still do not think Trump will lose but in the event he does I’m good. Now how are you going to do if Trump wins?

Trump is singularly responsible for the US economy spinning quickly now into a Depression. That's Depression with a big fat D. It's been nearly 90 years since we've faced one of those. And your boy did it.
Your post is stupid, ignorant and worthy of all the scorn you are receiving here for posting it.

Can you provide any metrics that support the case that the Trump economy is stronger than Obama’s?

Bravo and thank you. I was too lazy to document the way you did. Plus I'm trying to work...kind of.

People like TD fascinate me. How can someone be so easily fooled?
Willingness due to some form of social/sexual dysfunction causing jealousy, fear and malcontentment.

Opportunists regardless if Trumpublicans, Nazis or radical muslim imams, know their target audience and how easily they are manipulated. Fear is the prime motivator but the social/sexual dysfunction is a powerful mechanism also. It's why we see all the fear porn.

Throughout world history it's always the same type of people.

Morons, misogynists, racists, and incels .< Trump's base. KKK's base. The Nazi's base. The terrorist's base. Same people.

I think he has already proven that he can't.
Glad to see you got rid of the tank top look!

Does my bank account and investment accounts count as a metric? The fact that everyone I know that wants a good job has a good job count? Other than that no, and I’m not going to go through the trouble of googling it and then writing a 10 paragraph response like some. Anyway live poker is now on streaming from Texas I’ve got to get back to watching. For those who care they are playing 10 handed and looks like 5 have on mask and 5 don’t.

I take it you like tank tops? Cool
I was referring to your bleating about the greatness of Trump without ANY facts to back it up. That makes you a bleating sheep who isn’t armed with any information. All of your friends have good jobs? Were they unemployed during Obama’s presidency? Your bank account? What has Trump done to pad that? You probably believe he has been a successful businessman too don’t you? You possess no relevant knowledge...

Lets see my bank account and investment accounts have been padded quite nicely the past 4 years, my wife and I have enjoyed our most successful run since 2016 thanks for asking. Many friends are self employed and or own small businesses and all have seen their income increase during our Presidents term. I believe if you haven’t made money the past four years you probably weren’t trying, or you were to consumed with trying to convince others to believe it was all smoke and mirrors.

I see a lot of people here give credit to Obama’s economy, tell me without writing a novel (I won’t read it) what you think was so great about his economy and what he did so well

Why? You still haven't answered the T.rump economy question. If you really are a banker (and not a teller, like I suspect), it should be your passion. Economy talk should be in your wheelhouse.
Instead, all we get are deflections and personal accounts, which are probably bullshit.
So, come on...educate us. Otherwise you are just another T.rump moron wearing a "Fvck your Feelings" t-shirt. You are the equivalent of VSM and his flock of brain-dead dupes who infest this board.

And this just happened 3 years ago to everyone you know?

If you are in the banking industry I would have thought you'd worship the ground that Obama walked on as he saved your industry in 2009.

We just had a ten year bull run starting with the recovery act that prevented a depression.

When Obama took over the nasdaq was around 1200. When he left it was 5500.

Yes the nasdaq closed over 10,000 today so it's almost doubled in Trump's first term.

Obama quadrupled the market in his 8 years.

This nonsense that Trump did anything to an already roaring economy is laughable. To think that he built anything almost immediately because of some additional tax breaks and fracking is misinformed (2017 was the most robust year in anticipation of all of Trump's promises but got pissed on in 2018 when he started his trade war and eventually got played like a bitch as South America picked up a boatload of agriculture share).

Oh wait he's still working on those trade deals and they are going to be beautiful right?

This isn't a conservative VS liberal thing anymore.

What levels are you going to let Trump speak for you? Do you really want to be known as the party of neo Nazism, mysoginy, blatent corruption, irresponsibility and the lowest common denominator of intelligence?

Because that's what the world thinks of MAGA's. Dumbass trailer trash.

That is becoming the world view of the Republican party all because you let Trump bring you down to his WWF level.

'And that's the bottom line'. Lol

When is your party going to wise up?

The economy should be in every working man/woman’s wheelhouse right? When unemployment is down, the market is up and businesses are thriving it is a great sign we have a strong economy.

I respect your assuming what my job is, I will say for the record I have never been a teller but I highly respect what they do for the banking industry. I suspect their job is more important than any you have had and carry a greater risk of fear for potential failure.

You seem like a middle aged fella that loves to wear tank tops, but I could be wrong.

This is the perception that the Republican party as a whole is getting branded by its unconditional support of Trump.

Remember when Republicans were known as shrewd, intelligent but cold titans of capitalism?

Trump has now made the republican brand synonymous with barely educated, evangelical booger eating morons.

Have a laugh at this on the ground reporter at a Trump rally.

I can't believe you folks think Obama was good. He was probably the worst president in 100 years. I'm self-employed and I can attest that my little ole business has done really well under Trump...And that's with moving to a place I didn't know anyone/relocating in October of 2016!!!

When I look at it from that perspective, Trump has really earned my vote!!!!
