Opened at 3...That’s some significant money on IU and a lot of respect from “Vegas”.

Putting the cart before the horse, I actually think Maryland and northwestern might shape up to be 14+ point wins for IU...Nebraska feels more like a 1td game either way.

SP+ spread puts IU as a ~16pt favorite over Northwestern. It’s fun to think about, but the game tomorrow is going to dictate whether we are trending toward #9windiana or #5windiana...
 
I do not understand odds, gambling, etc.
One poster a while back mentioned that the point spread is not a prediction but to increase the number of bets. Can anyone explain?
 
They want to get an equal amount of money bet on both sides, so Vegas wins no matter the outcome because of the "juice" needed to place a bet.

With that being true...the lines "usually" are a good indicator of what to expect.

The first part of your statement is true, the last part is not always true.
