Last home game of the year, and the last of the 3 must wins to go dancing. If you told me before the season our tourney would come down to a game vs Rutgers….. I’d tell you you were full of shit.

I will admit I did not see that 5 game losing streak coming, did not think we would see a streak like that again. NW should be a W, but that is not how it played out, and Woody wanted to make a statement.

We win tonight we are riding hot going into the hippo hunters den with house money. It is always fun to play with house money. How do we get that money???? ALL FREAKING Aboard! I am losing my voice tonight, I already bought my damn dancing shoes!!!!!

OK, Carl Storie!

I think it’s the lead singer of the band Lucy is in. Lucy is supposed to be a great drummer. Never seen them play.

If there can be only one, that's got to be it.
That other "Changes" posted was so lame to my taste I had to spit it out after 20 seconds. It reminded me of the Super Bowl Halftime show. Where is mascara-caked face Ziggy in platform shoes when I want him!

2pac had more talent in his tongue than most genres have.

He may but I wouldn't know. It's the genre I can't stand. I hate the constant pounding of social issues. My musically tainted taste is happily mired in Woodstock mud of the 60's, back when time was on my side. I was searching for good times, the kind that you need.

wish I could share your optimism. Even with a win tonigth, if we get drilled in Mackey this weekend (which after last night's Bucky game, Purdue is gonna be in a bad mood) and if we lay our traditional first game egg in the B1G tourney, I'm sweatin' it on Selection Sunday.

That would have us on the bubble, but without a ton of conference tourney surprises, I think on the right side. But, still, you don't want to go into the tourney on a 2 game skid and as you mentioned, our perennially poor BTT showing needs to be stopped. CMW got the PU monkey off his back and I think will get the smaller, but still frustrating Rutgers one off tonight. After that, we either need a win vs PU or in the BTT to begin to show we're turning a corner after that 5 game losing streak. Hope we can rise to the challenge. Haven't seen much of that over the last 10 years.

Tough matchup for us I think.

I predict some very, very, very ugly basketball tonight.

If our normal hot heads can use it as positive fuel, instead of distracting poison, we should beat them.

We've seen a few of our guys, though, not handle chippiness and physical play very well.

I think its a pretty even matchup as it is. Harper, Baker, etc... are gonna be tough matchups for our guys like Kopp and Stewart. Add in the mental challenges...???

5 seems pretty high...I think they're trying to even out the betting probably at that number. I bet it comes down a little bit throughout the day.

Spot on. The brass knuckles will be out. This has the potential to be like UW or MSU (or potentially something worse). Hopefully we keep our cool.

foul trouble will be an issue, and how the game is called a factor. I suspect we get home cooking, but we’ll see.

Having rob is humungous. He was our starting PG for three years! Tremendous back up that can give you real depth and play 20-30 mins if needed.

Helps as a defensive stopper to close the game, also in case x is in foul trouble.

Rutgers has owned us the last 4 years with Archie. I think it ends tonight. We win and cover.

If what you outline happens (win tonight, lose Mackey bounced game one BTT), no need to sweat. There will be no invite to the dance.

At that point, I think style points will matter.

Meaning...how close were the Purdue and Michigan games? If we play both of them relatively tough, I think we'll have a strong case for a 12 seed at large.

If either/both of them blow us out...I think that could tip the scales against us.

Or we try something we USED to do. Win both games damnit

this team has everything to play for: senior night, not been to the tourney in 6 years, not a player on the team who has been to the tourney (Kopp wasn't on the NU team that made it?), owned by Rutgers, home game, home crowd, last home game of season, get your coach to the tourney... everything. We should win tonight and we need to win tonight!

Obviously...Assuming we win tonight, a win in either of those games seals an NCAA bid.

We've been beaten down so badly in the last 6 years or so, that expecting the worst is safer, mentally.

I agree with those who say senior night gives IU an emotional advantage,
Especially with an alumni coach sending his first senior class on the floor.
Rutgers seems to play their best as an underdog.
Playing from behind cannot happen for long.

I’ll say IU’s best defender Race contains Ron Harper Jr.
X sustains his recent level of play.
RP improves from his MN game, and together with X and Stewart, they outplay SK guards.
Let’s win by 8. For a 15-4 home record.
