Correct. The proper retribution for politicians and beuracrats that engaged in lockdown measures and mandates would be to line them all up at Trump’s inauguration and shoot them.

There is some tug of war between the left and the center-left for the party’s baton.
Given Kamala’s pivot to the center, the way Trump pummeled her with the “they/them” ad, the loss of working class voters (esp. working class Latinos), the angst that the Sanders set has with Dem coziness with Wall Street, etc., the strains over Israel/Gaza, this was inevitable in the event of a loss.
Both sides of this have a strong interest in keeping the coalition together. In other words, they both want the baton, but they also both need the other side to go along with them having the baton.
The wild card is basically what happened to Republicans: enough of their voters revolt and go a different direction entirely. It didn’t begin with Trump, it began with the Tea Party movement…a movement that (importantly) wasn’t designed and led by anybody in Washington.
