Indiana posted one of their best defensive seasons back in 2020 and looks to get back to that way this year.

Well, you just described improvement in all 3 of the groups- Offense, defense, special teams.I expect coach Allen will improve a bad defense into a much better defense like he did when he first came to IU. Coach knows how to turn around a defense and I hope coach Bell can do the same for IU's offense. If both units and the STs improve we will see a much better season in 2022.
Moving the defensive schemes back closer to what we saw in 2020 would be a huge improvement. Getting the OL in synch with focus on fundamental execution would be a huge improvement. Making a QB decision early and giving the offense more reps together would be a huge improvement.I expect coach Allen will improve a bad defense into a much better defense like he did when he first came to IU. It is better than staying with the coaches that caused the season to happen. If it is so difficult then Michigan will be down this year. I do see your point though.Coming off an awful year, new staff, and tough schedule. That is a tough combo.
I am excited to see the results of new faces (coaches and players) putting their best effort forward in their new situation. I also believe these are circumstances that brings the best out of Allen. He takes to the challenge of learning how personnel tick. Also being heavily engaged with Hiller and the OL and gearing up to run the show on D game day keeps his edge honed.Coming off an awful year, new staff, and tough schedule. That is a tough combo.
