Is the 3 second call been eliminated from the game. Kofi camps in there all day with no calls. Also noticed the same with other bigs.

Along with the travel call. So many missed today for both teams.

How about his shuffling of his feet before he even makes a move. He travels all the time and a call is never made.

Whenever the player is moving towards the basket the count is discontinued

Is that any player on the court or any offensive player with the ball or what? Kofi camped with at least one foot in the lane for more than 3 seconds on several possessions. As an aside, TJD has done it in prior games.

It looked like, All you have to do is put one foot outside the lane … and lift your foot inside the lane … to get a new count.

The FIBA rule says both feet. If you start to move to leave the restricted area, the count stops. If there is a pass or shot, the count stops.

I’ll agree that it could have been called a couple of times. A one foot dance … was not a real attempt to leave the lane.

If the player in the lane starts dribbling towards the basket count pauses until he passes or doesn’t attempt a shot. So this becomes a very subjective count.

Seems like it could be quite hard for even an honest ref to keep track of.

The 3 second rule is mostly about offensive players without the ball.
When their team is in possession in the front court.

A player standing in the lane with the ball will get tied up before 3 seconds expires.
Otherwise, The count would stop when the ball left his hand for a pass or shot as his team is no longer in possession of the ball.

Kofi is quite the dancer. Very light on his feet and therefore his sliding of feet and changing of pivot foot while pushing the defender backwards drawing a foul on the way up is not defendable, advantage Kofi. This advantage is not being called and yet the player beyond the 3 point line is called for dragging his foot and has created no advantage in doing so. Kofi's body shots on a solidly placed defender should be a charging foul just as if he had run into the defender. Another pet pieve of mine is a foul called on a made 3 point shot. Where was the interference on that made shot?

Another is kicking your leg out on a 3 pt. shot to create contact. NO foul, play on.
