We were once an elite, blue blood program. For some reason, many reasons we decided not to be any longer. We set our standards much lower, and with it our expectations. Barcelona fired their soccer coach this week. They are in first place in the league and qualified for the knockout stage of champions league. How the team was playing didn’t match the standards and the expectations of the fans and the board. If we are going to allow results like this in year 3, to be an average team, then so be it, but stop pissing away money on coaches, recruiting etc. if our basketball team is on par with average P5 teams let’s adjust our budget accordingly. Give the extra 1.5 mil we spend on coaches and recruiting to the physics dept.
