With that mantra I’m good with shared facilities. The football only facilities don’t fit the culture.
Time to win a few.
Go Hoosiers!

well BB has there own facilty. So the mantra should be " Only 1 team we care about"
Why does basketball have their own facility? See, I think Fred is a basketball AD and just puts on a front concerning football. It's a decent front because he can point to the endzone projects as proof of his football commitment.
There's obvious decisions he's made that point to him being a basketball man. When will Indiana get a true blue football man???
Good point. Oh well I lost the debate. Debate coach would be disappointed. Huge grin!.well BB has there own facilty. So the mantra should be " Only 1 team we care about"

Do you think Archie Miller refers to it in the presence of recruits as merely a “practice gym”? Probably not. And no one said this is about some unfounded notion of catering to “divas”. This is about doing everything possible to elevate a chronically losing football program to a consistently winning one. Interesting and telling that so many seem supportive of just maintaining the status quo. Maybe that’s why the results on the field have never really improved.Ummm..., not so fast my friend.
Cook Hall is a practice gym. Girls and boys gyms.
If you look just north of Memorial Stadium, you will see TWO outdoor practice fields used exclusively by football, plus the indoor field in Mellancamp.
Plus, Assembly Hall has housed/now houses all kinds of stuff. Wrestling. Offices. Junk. The Cuban Computer stuff.
Just saying.
This is a manufactured issue.
And I still say any player who demands such special, snowflake treatment, and wants to be promised they won’t have to eat, or lift or rehab with other athletes - give them a bus ticket. I want players, TEAMMATES - not prima dona “look at me” head cases.
LEO, not “you are inferior so go away”
Reminds me of pop stars who have contracts saying the workers around them cant talk in their presence, or look at them.
Whiny needy divas should not apply.
So better use of money spent would have been no NEZ and SEZ and a separate building wit al the same amenities would have been better for IU football? In the last 10 years, they have built the NEZ facility, the SEZ facility, paved the gravel parking lot, think we got new turf?? and will soon be upgrading locker rooms and team meeting rooms.
Oh yea, that is just maintaining the status quo. Maybe most of us just realize they are making improvements.

The problem is they are only presenting partial facts. Lots of schools share weightrooms training facilities nutrition centers because Title IX and money. If you believe Fred zGlas does not care about all sports and Indiana U. I think you are mistaken but you are entitled to your opinion. It certainly seems like he cares about football but then I learn from this board that basketball has their own facilities. I'm also learning that football should've been the program with their own facilities because it's being used against us in recruiting battles.
I would've agreed with you last week but lots of information from long time posters has recently revealed that maybe Glass isn't quite putting his best foot forward regarding football.
The man is in charge of the lowest paid football coaching staff in the conference according to people around here. What does that say? I just want the season to start and for us to win tons of games.

I meant that in terms of keeping pace with the rest of the Big 10, which they’re not really doing. In the last 10 years, they have built the NEZ facility, the SEZ facility, paved the gravel parking lot, think we got new turf?? and will soon be upgrading locker rooms and team meeting rooms.

Football only facilities are more than just exclusive weight rooms. Saying that it’s only about the weight room is presenting partial facts. The problem is they are only presenting partial facts. So what else is the football team lacking?Football only facilities are more than just exclusive weight rooms. Saying that it’s only about the weight room is presenting partial facts.
Have asked that same question but they never answerSo what else is the football team lacking?
Football only facilities for training, practice, treatment, etc. And better maintained existing facilities. It’s what other Big 10 schools are doing, and what recruits, their parents and coaches have mentioned as being “less” at IU compared to most other conference schools. At the least, this is an area where could be distinctive, yet they choose not to be.So what else is the football team lacking?
It’s been answered repeatedly.Have asked that same question but they never answer
It says we have a first time head coach, and he's making first time head coach money. This is a prime reason why the coaching staff salary pool is where it is. Just like Fitzgerald at Northwestern who was initially hired at a modest salary, Allen will get a nice bump if and when success comes to the football Hoosiers. The man is in charge of the lowest paid football coaching staff in the conference according to people around here. What does that say?
The salary disparity is fact. Please review coaches salaries at the other Big 10 schools for verification. And Iu chose to hire a first time head coach without considering other candidates, which played heavily into the narrative that expenses were a major consideration in the hire.It says we have a first time head coach, and he's making first time head coach money. DeBord, the OC, is being paid essentially what he was making at Tennessee. Allen is still running the defense although Hagen (whose title is defensive line coach and co-defensive coordinator) is doing pretty well at 400k.
This salary argument (i.e. IU doesn't care about football because of the coaches' salaries) is a fallacy, and pretty ridiculous.
Can you not read? I explained the disparity. The salary disparity is fact. Please review coaches salaries at the other Big 10 schools for verification.
You claimed the “salary argument” is a “fallacy”, which is obviously inaccurate. Can you not read? I explained the disparity.
Not necessarily they saw a guy who they thought was a perfect fit for program. Success at other schools, turned around IU defense, good recruiter, Dad a successful high school football coach in Indiana and he is from Indiana. Tampa coaches love trust and respect him.The salary disparity is fact. Please review coaches salaries at the other Big 10 schools for verification. I agree that Fred Glass consideeed him a perfect fit for the program, though I think his compensation was a significant aspect of that perfect fit.Not necessarily they saw a guy who they thought was a perfect fit for program. No it’s absolutely true. Sure TA isn’t worth more than he’s being paid. In fact he probably would’ve accepted the job for 1/4 of what he’s making. The argument is we should’ve spent the money to make the big hire, not the cheap one. TA’s worth is not part of the argument. It says we have a first time head coach, and he's making first time head coach money. This is a prime reason why the coaching staff salary pool is where it is. It's only a factor if it prevented IU from getting the coach they wanted. I've seen no evidence of that. This salary argument (i.e. IU doesn't care about football because of the coaches' salaries) is a fallacy, and pretty ridiculous.
Hey I hope they have breakthrough season and Tom Allen and assistants get paid.No it’s absolutely true. Sure TA isn’t worth more than he’s being paid. Don't tell that to Larryisoneofmymanynames. He's got inside information that expenses were a major factor. Don't worry about him providing evidence, though (you won't get it). Just take his word for it.we have no direct evidence that funding for salaries was a limiting factor in hires

well recruiting at Ole Miss and defensive coordinator at USFSuccess at what other schools? Are you talking about high school?

Ordfan is back and it is easy to recognize the condescending tone.We got it... Larry... You've been telling us the same thing under multiple handles since TA was hired...
Try moving on to another topic.
If you truly have any "inside" information we'd all love to read it.
If you just are on here to keep up the same old shitck please consider moving to the pu site. They'll appreciate your "Indiana football sucks how can I count the many ways" routine much more then we do...
Of course it does, and of course Glass realizes this. He knows the value of football and he wants it to succeed. He's on the record saying this on many occasions.football certainly carries significant weight as it relates to continued good funding of programs
