Lighten up Francis. Should they play the national anthem at the beginning of a play or movie? If not, why? How about a church? Why not start the service with the Star-Spangled Banner? I remember saying the Pledge of Allegiance at the beginning of class. Why don’t we do that anymore?.
When I was a kid, I lived on a navy base and at sunset was a very loud recording of taps that you could hear for miles. Everybody on the playground would immediately stop and stand silently at attention. Do they play taps in your neighborhood at sunset. If not why?
Sounds like your problem is not a matter of patriotism. Sounds like your problem is that everybody doesn’t march in step the way that you think they should. Maybe you but would be much happier under an authoritarian regime. Have you ever thought of moving to North Korea?
