Some really good PG’s in Central IN for the 2022 and its hard not to like each of them. I think Smith right now is probably the best of the bunch but I’d keep an eye out on Comer. He plays taller than his height and is a very explosive athlete.

Would also keep an eye out on Pete Moe, Comer’s teammate at Cathedral also in the 2022 class. About 6’7 right now and would probably need to grown another inch or two before gaining high major interest. Son of Jeff Moe who was a tough dude at Iowa in the late 80’s.

I'm just going to list Livingston in the "others" because it looks like he has no interest in IU....I'll move him up if we learn otherwise.

I have added Kyle Fitipowski to the "interested" list. Per the Daily Hoosier it looks like we're seriously trying to get involved with him. His height & weight are pretty uncertain. 247 has him at 6'8". Elsewhere, I've seen him listed as tall as 7'0". He's very thin. He needs to add strength. Based on his film, he's a very good outside shooter & ball handler for his size. He competes underneath but is no better than average athletic ability. Still, he looks like a likely top 50 guy in that class given his shooting/ball handling. Reminds me of some of the Duke big men recently......He's originally from NY, but is now playing as a Mass. prep school.

Edit....To clarify....this kid presently is not listed in Rivals top 75 nor 247's top 89 in the '22 class.......however, he just picked up a UCLA offer, and it's likely IU will offer......to me, he looks like a top 50 guy.....

Have added IU interest in Jameel Brown, PA combo guard. He's listed as a 6'2" 150 lbs PG by Rivals, and a 6'3" 145 lbs SG by 247.....however, I saw him listed as 170 lbs elsewhere, and that's about what he looks like on his highlights.

IU is looking at, but hasn't yet offered, Issac McKneely, a 6'4" SG out of WV. He is not rated in the top 75 by either Rivals or 247, but he's a good looking prospect that has an inside/outside game that reminds one of Galloway. I think he will end up a top 70 guy. He has offers from WV, VT, KSU, UL, X. WV is the favorite right now. According to the Daily Hoosier, he did attend the Arkansas game.

Why haven't we offered Lands? Hopefully he's the first player to commit from La Lumiere since Hanner. He's very underrated in my opinion, but I don't like our lack of a history with top prep school players.
 
Rumor is in Jeffersonville are is Loving-Watts won't be at Jeff, he left team early last year. Heard he will be going to Bloomington South or New Albany. Don't shoot the messenger.

Fair question. Trainings that involve the Jeff kids. Watts is participating in those is what I am told. They do not involve Jeff coaches nor are they held at the high school.

Nice article on Brandon Smith on HSN today...

Highlights: IU is in contact once a week, want to see him play.

Brandon at 6'0" now and has added some weight....his dad id 6'3"....he's expected to get to 6'1" or 6'2".

Has been 'invited' to pick up games with TJD & A. Franklin.

I think this kid has "it" and hope he ends up a Hoosier. He's a special shooter & passer, imo.

My first thought was he sounds like a taller Matt Roth, which in itself might be something we need. But he also has a 38-inch vertical so he should have the size and athleticism to play defense in the Big Ten. His shot is obviously his biggest strength with a quick and high release, but he doesn't look like just another great shooter (not that there's anything wrong with that).

Per the Daily Hoosier, IU is trying to get involved with 6-8 small forward James Graham out of Milwaukee.
He's a '21 recruit who has risen in the rankings and is #56 in 247's ratings. It sounds like his game is similar to Hunter's. IU hasn't offered, but many other high D1 schools recently have offered.

A few little tidbits concerning '22 class:

--Fletcher Loyer, brother of current MSU guard, from Clarkston, MI is transferring to Homestead HS in Indiana, Luke Goode's school. Has offers from Purdue & Michigan (apparently not MSU). Averaged 23 pts/game last year. No reported IU interest as yet.....

IU is keeping in close contact with K. Lands & Leland Walker......the '22 PG recruiting will be interesting. The note I saw about Walker quoted some recruiting guru as saying he'll be Mr. Basketball in Indiana in '22, fwiw. I really like what I've seen from B. Smith...............

A bunch of good PG's from Central IN in the 2022 class. I prefer Smith as well as I think he can play both guard positions with his ability to stretch the floor (Jordan Hulls), but don't think you could go wrong with Smith/Comer/Walker. I suspect IU will still heavily covet Bruce Thornton but wouldn't be surprised to see them take 2 in that class.

I really like the big man Phillips out of Dayton. Lands is a very good player also from Indianapolis (Cousin of Jalen Coleman-Lands Illinois/DePaul/now Iowa State) who will draw a ton of high major interest. Intrigued by Loving-Watts as well.

There's a good pod cast interview with Smith on the Daily Hoosier site. It's a very good listen. The guy bleeds Cream & Crimson, and has a big chip on his shoulder because of the height issue which, in the end, may not be an issue at all. I have not seen him in person. From what I've seen of his highlights, he's very quick with and without the ball, an excellent ball handler, a really good/borderline great shooter, an exceptional passer, and aggressive going to the basket. I see Alford and Skiles' qualities in him. The only question is out much would he give up defensively to a 6'3"-6'4" scoring PG. I understand that as a concern, but damn.........

Based on what he says CAM has said to him, what I've read about our contacts, and the fact that he was playing pick-up games with AF & TJD this Spring, I know there's genuine IU interest. I think CAM is contemplating Smith v. Walker. then wanting the other PG to be taller.

IU is trying to get involved with Reggie Bass, a 6'3" 190 lbs combo guard, formerly of Muncie, now out of Chattanooga, TN.....Has offers from Florida, ILL, PROV and A&M at this point, but hearing from a lot of other high D1 programs.
