Thanks for posting these. I just checked the roster, though, and it seems incomplete. Only two freshmen. Am I wrong here?

Those two 'freshmen' listed were on campus last year. None of the true first year players have been added to the roster on the website yet. I'm sure once grades are tallied, and any transfers are accounted for, and possible red shirts are determined, they'll update the roster as February approaches. Looking forward to a very promising season!

- Thanks. Hope you're right about the update. Last year, it was like unearthing one of the mysteries of the universe to get a roster posted before the season started. Like you, I'm looking forward to a good year.

We are still awaiting the final roster, but here is a rundown of Juniors coming from iubase.com ... watch this space. GBR!

Go Hoosiers!

That's quite a class........

It's my impression that Bunnell is a very solid defensive player........if that's the case, the infield should be very good overall defensively. C and SS could be exceptional, and Miller's very good as well. The only question I'd have is how good Bradley and/or Dunham are at 1st.......haven't really seen enough to know and haven't heard much about it.

It just seems to me that all the major questions for this team are with the pitching staff.........and it's hard to believe that it won't be much improved. We just need a few guys to step up there.

Does anyone know if the Sloan kid is now healthy?

Grant Sloan started and went 2 innings in the Sunday scrimmage. I didn’t think he looked great but he got a few strikeouts and didn’t give up any hits.

The few times I saw Bradley at first he seemed comfortable maybe not the best at getting the bad throw. I feel like Gorski saved more than a few errors last year.

Hmmmm.....thanks for the comments about Sloan & Bradley, It's amazing how uncertain yet promising the pitching situation is. I'm a little concerned about the Bradley/Dunham combo defensively. Any idea about how good Lloyd is defensively at first? My thought would be maybe not so good, as I don't hear much about the possibility of Lloyd playing 1st and the combo DHing. But Lloyd did mention 1st as a possible position for him in his interview.

Somehow I got the impression that Bunnell was a very good defensive 2nd baseman, but the iu.com story says he made 13 errors in 125 chances at the JC last year. Yikes. That puts another light on things.........more concerned about that right side defensively than I was before. It's hard to see Stratton being the starter. Rest of the team looks great defensively.

The night I saw Lloyd during Fall Ball he looked very comfortable. Good foot work scooped a couple out. Came in on a ball. After that night I was thinking that’s where he would land actually. They just so have so many combinations available but I don’t think they have 100 percent faith in any of them. Maybe not even 75 percent. Run em out there the first few weeks and see what’s best I guess. Reminds me of the pitching last year a little.

Bunnell shined a few days during Fall Ball going to his right and his left . Real highlight plays. One of them Lemo was standing behind second base to. I’ve actually seen him make some errors on some easier , routine plays though. Not sure it matters but he making some nice picks at short during BP to.
