I do believe Silver Creek, reigning 3-A state champs, will be playing Fort Wayne Blackhawk in the "Tip-Off Classic (Southport Shootout) in December. Should be interesting. SC has at least one transfer that should contribute. They lose two senior guards but soph Northern (Bryant Northern's son) saw plenty of time on the floor as a freshman.

The transfer crap in high school has become ridiculous.
Kids telling folks now...I'm chasing a title plain and simple.
Not because of anything else ..
Watching the NBA to much..imo.

Silver Creek has nobody that matches up with 6'10" Caleb Furst.

Trey Kaufman spends a lot of time playing in the Louisville tournaments/AAU scene down there and makes friends. SC has become a destination school. Their school system is on the rise. I think dad Northern played at Jeff. Not sure if they live in SC district or not. When I was in school, I mostly chased titt, not tittle.

Blackhawk loses a lot off of their 2A State Champion team. But Furst was just a Sophomore and a top 30 player in the nation. FW Blackhawk will reload around Furst.

I think the transfer is a 7 footer from an Academy in Louisville. Not sure of his skill level.
So with IHSAA rule changes players are "selecting" their HS, or going to HS Prep School, much like college recruitment and NBA free agency. This was the dirty little secret advantage of Private Schools in lower classes who would load up on talent from a region and compete against small schools with a much smaller talent net from within their own school district borders.

If the school is a member of the IHSAA, wouldn't the child have to live in the district?

That changed a few years ago I thought. Fort Wayne has basically open enrollment in FW City schools where you can pick your HS as an incoming HS freshman. If you play football in FW you choose FW Snider for example, or go to private school.

I think 2019 2A Champion FW Blackhawk Christian would have been too much for 3A Champion Silver Creek with 6'7" Senior Frankie Davidson and 6'10" Soph Caleb Furst.

Davidson the Senior has a little brother who is a pretty good shooter. He could grow some more I guess, but he is not as big as the older brother. I sure hope IU gets Furst.

Furst is a stud. A rare highly skilled big man inside or outside of the lane.
