Seems the main thing working for MSU was Winston breaking down the defense. My guess is it is more important stopping Winston's penetration. So not sure what throwing DD out there to clog the paint helps all that much. I'd been more worried about an offensive rebound tip in so in that scenario I'd want him or Race in the game. Don't remember if it was Winston or someone else but thakfully they had a foul to give and used it because MSU player had a clear path on that foul.

Smith played his best game of career and took all of Race minutes (IMO). Also, with Ward out, we could go a little smaller.

DD hadn't practiced all week with the flu. My guess is Smith was having a good game and Archie wanted to leave him out there. I have no problem with the latter. If healthy, I would have wanted more DD. Juwan didn't have a good defensive game, but he made a play when we needed it.

Flu shot has been useless the last two seasons. Even if the shot was the right strain, you can still get it.

i get flu shots every year and still get sick 3-4 times a year. damn kids
