Finished 5-3 for the weekend

Yahoo was wrong about Nw St vs SF-Aus. They don't play until Monday. So I guess I did ok with 5 wins.

Good news is that Kansas and Mo St are clicking to give me a very strong top 3 with VCU.

The bad news is that S.Car and SMU appear that they will give me next to nothing down the stretch. I was counting on getting a few more wins from them, but they're blowing their winnable chances at home.

Look at me down in 7th place

That what happens when Kentucky loses.

And Jackson State loses.

And George Mason loses.

And Creighton loses.

I got two wins from Indiana and Oklahoma. That's it. 2 wins. Of course, it doesn't help that I only had 7 games.

On the other hand, being in the bottom half of the standings feels very comfortable to me. It's like I belong here.

Your schedules have had a feast/famine quality

Seems like you're always either supposed to go 8-2 or 2-8, and rarely 5-5.

And 7th is not bottom. It's slightly in the upper half. But we're getting pushed by Glor, Rum and BRS so we might end up in the back half yet.

I'm beginning to think I started well simply because...

... I had advantageous early schedules for my teams. None of my teams have gone on any streaks of upsetting better teams. For the most part, they tend to win when they are expected to win and lose when they are expected to lose. But early on, as you say, they were expected to win 7 or 8 games per segment, now they are expected to win 2 or 3 games per segment.

Given that Duke has completely sunk and Richmond never surfaced (as well as George Mason continuing to struggle a bit), and I'd say my chances of finishing in the Top 3 are pretty much over.

On the bright side, I enjoy seeing Duke lose. =)

You may be right about that.

For sure IU, Duke and W.Va had early favorable schedules.

Maybe Okla could be a big help to you. Seems like the Big 12 has more remaining games than most leagues.

Duke is almost as big of killer as Richmond when you figure out how many games each one is below average for rounds in which they were taken.

I think SMU has effectively sunk me. A week ago I thought I might still get 6 wins out of them but they just blew 2 winnable home games. And S.Car quit getting me upset wins.

I got some teams with problems:
1. Mo St and VCU are very good but quickly running out of games.
2. Wi-Mil, S.Car and SMU maybe only have 2 or 3 wins left among them altogether.
3. Boise has a killer-tough finishing schedule.

Only big positive I have is a lot of games left with Kansas.

I think I'll end up with 95 wins heading into the tourneys

Here's how I see it breaking down:

Creighton - 11 now - 14 total
Duke - 5 now - 7 total
George Mason - 7 now - 10 total
Indiana - 7 now - 10 total
Kentucky - 7 now - 10 total
USC - 8 total - 12 total
Oklahoma - 6 now - 9 total
West Virginia - 7 now - 9 total
Jackson State - 8 now - 13 total
Richmond - 1 now - 1 total

Jackson State has a very nice schedule to end the season, and if they end up with 13 wins that'll be a respectable 9th round at-large team.

West Virginia, Duke, Indiana, and Oklahoma have absolutely horrible schedules from here on out. Oklahoma's last 3 home games are against Texas A&M, Texas, and Kansas (ouch!).

I'm guessing I'll finish in 9th place.

95 is also my latest projection

Two weeks ago I had it at 100, and a week ago I had it at 98. So my projections aren't trending well. Problem I have is that my worst teams (S.Car and SMU) have the most games left.

I've got IU projected at 11-5, so lets give 96; one more than me.

Don't know how that will stack up in the standings. Let's hope the 3 rushings us from behind cool off a bit.
