It's hard to even get back to the playoffs after being in the conference championships, unless you're NE.

Sustained excellence is rare and amazing.

The last time that the Patriots kicked off a football game and were out of contention for the Super Bowl, Bill Clinton was president. The date was December 24, 2000. 18 YEARS! Not one game in his career as a starter, for Brady. They did miss the playoffs twice, in 2002 and 2008, and both times they were eliminated only after they WON their last game and they tied for best division record, but each time they lost a tiebreaker (to the 2002 Jets, 2008 Dolphins) based upon games played later.

We shall never see such a dynasty again. Enjoy it!

7 more regular season wins and Brady passes the combo of Joe Montana and Steve Young for total wins

4 more postseason wins and Brady passes the combo of Joe Montana and Steve Young

1 more Super Bowl win and Brady passes the combo of Joe Montana and Steve Young

He already is well ahead in percentages in every category vs. the combo

Brady > two of the greatest Hall-of-Famer's careers, COMBINED!

Wow. Someone's feelings got hurt by the Pats' thread yesterday.

Recognizing greatness. What of IU made it to 8 straight final fours? It would be pretty cool, right? It would be Patriot-like! :)

The better comparison would be if college basketball had a recruiting system where teams picked players in reverse order of their record the previous year, yet IU STILL made it to 8 straight final fours and hung 5 banners in 18 years. THAT would be Patriot-like!

What if TB12 played 50 more games and LOST THEM ALL, while Drew Brees played 50 more games and WON THEM ALL?

Which QB would have the better career winning percentage?

A dynasty with an asterisks that reads.....CHEATERS

Not a single asterisk anywhere

18 straight winning seasons

Your grandkids will ask "Did you ever see the Patriots dynasty in person, grandpa?"

It will be like old timers sharing stories about Wilt Chamberlain.

16 straight 10+ win seasons (NFL record)
10 straight division titles (NFL record)
10 straight playoff berths (NFL record)
a win away from 9 straight first round byes (NFL record)
two wins away from 8 straight conference finals appearances (NFL record)

#witnessing greatness

People like you are why 90% of the country will rejoice when Brady and Belichick retire.

I'd love it even more if IU made 8 final fours in a row. That would be great, though lots of jealous people around the country would hate IU.

I don’t even care about the Patriots- too focused on the Colts’ bright future.

All that, and Brady still couldn't hold Manning's jock.

Although I'm sure he'd enjoy it...
