Future success of CTA at IU?

It all depends on the Offense. If Bell can produce, TA will get back on track If the offense is terrible. CTA will need to make another OC change, or his days are numbered.

    Shivers to the house!

I love the small bowling ball type backs! He'll hide behind the line, then explode through the hole. Low center of gravity, plus the shiftyness will let him pick through the traffic and find daylight. Going to be tough to bring down and fun to watch.

Please tell me why I should be optimistic?

Film... paper... semantics. And we've had many great practice players who have yet to translate it onto the field. I hope they do in 2022. We all see potential, for sure. But until they suit up on Friday against Illinois, then it's still just on paper, or film, or whatever. Remember Handy...

Please tell me why I should be optimistic?

They are difference makers.... on paper. On the field is where it counts. Illinois can't get here fast enough.

Please tell me why I should be optimistic?

I expect the team to be better in year 6 of CTA's tenure. After 5 years, the roster, the scheme, the culture, the program is 100% his. 2022 is the crucible, the fulcrum of his tenure as IUFB HC. For Allen, it 2022 is his time to show how he has built his program for consistent success and is...

IUFB Spring Practice starts March 5

Defensively, I would prefer Allen to let go of play calling duties like with Wommack. It allowed Allen to just be a Head Coach and build the program instead of worrying about the defense. I thought it worked out really well. The defense took a downturn in 21 because the offense was so bad and...

IUFB Spring Practice starts March 5

As long as everyone knows that's how its going to be and fit in as best as they can.

IUFB Spring Practice starts March 5

No problem. I thought the part about an undefeated IUFB, a couple B1G, and a national championship gleaned from the microscopic coverage was pretty sarcastic. But maybe not. Haha.

    I was being sarcastic.

IUFB Spring Practice starts March 5

Yeahhhh.... no. Give me all the information so I can psychoanalyze every minute detail, make speculative leaps spanning the Grand Canyon, and hope and pine for an IU football program that never experiences a losing season ever again. Maybe a couple B1G championships and a natty.

Adam Henry - New WRs coach

Like I said before... That's fine by me as long as his new position coaches know that and accept it. It seems the previous two did not, and that's fine too, because we upgraded them anyway.

IUFB Spring Practice starts March 5

How much time does Bell get? Does he get the benefit of the doubt in 2022, even if the offense is bad, and he gets 2023? Is that also Allen's crucible?

IUFB Spring Practice starts March 5

Agreed. The position coaches are all going to have to be OK to being told how to do their jobs and to teach things the way Bell wants them taught. They are just going to have to be ok with that. It seems to me that Heard and DMC could not deal with that. Hopefully the new coaches, despite...

Adam Henry - New WRs coach

He's micromanaging the RBs with the new coach already here so he will probably continue. Oh, and Hiller is giving TA direct "advice" on how to do things. Gooood luck. and Coach [Darren] Hiller, that came to me and said it would be wise if we did it this way this year because of some of the...

Adam Henry - New WRs coach

That is definitely possible, especially considering reports of Bell's coaching style.

IUFB Spring Practice starts March 5

Now I see why coaches might have left. Seems that Bell is very hands on and super involved. Perhaps DMC and Heard did not like that (micro managing?) Some people are ok with bosses that micro manage, some are not. Hopefully the new coaches know what they are coming into and are willing to...

Adam Henry - New WRs coach

https://www.si.com/nfl/cowboys/.amp/news/dallas-coach-adam-henry-explains-leaving-amari-cooper-change-indiana-hoosiers Looks like he was dealing the deaths of his father, and didn't prioritize his contract extension. A bit shady on Dallas's part, imo. I hate to capitalize on a tragic...

    Updated 2022 Expectations?

4-8 in year 6 of CTA. Ouch. And most who voted agree. Expectations have dropped quite a bit and its especially disappointing considering the 2 seasons you mentioned. We go from preseason #17 to absolute uncertainty and lack of confidence in the program. Such is IU football.
