World Cup soccer finals should be on everyone’s list. Cheering for the US against a top team is a great experience. Having a beverage or two with other countries’ fans before and after the games adds to the good times.
( Attending a US v Mexico soccer match is also a must-do event.)
Looks like he has solid experience and success with recruiting ties to Michigan, Ohio, and Florida.
Sure, he’s not a proven Power 5 coach but that kind of coach is likely not coming to IU.
I think Candle may just light it up.
I've seen Ian play a few times. For that level, he's got a very solid all-around game. Good D and offense and can go both inside and outside. Smart player with long arms and good athleticism. Whether that translates into any playing time at the B10 level remains to be seen but good for him to...
I have not seen a quote form RMK. I would think he would be ecstatic. Is RMK's health such that he does not exactly know what's going on or certainly can't respond at this pont? if so, that's too bad that he did not see one of his favorite (?) players come back home.
On that last note, was he...
While I would like Alford, that ship has probably sailed. Beard and Stevens are not gettable. Would love Marshall but too much recent baggage. Thus, it is down to 3 (unless Oats would spurn Bama).
who do you take: Thad matta, beilein, or Scott Drew?
He's a solid coach, and this would not be a bad move. I used to think 67 was getting up there, but that now seems young to me... Sure, he would not be here for 20 years, but perhaps he has 5-8 solid years. By then, Stevens would be ready to come home.
Have you not heard of Bill Mallory? During the '87 93 years, he finished 2, 5, 6, 7, 3, 6, and 4. Went to bowl games in 5/7 of those years (when there were less bowl games).
Ball finished middle of the MAC. Eastern Ill was last in the OVC - the OVC (DAA or whatever they call it now). Ucon - 0-8 in their conference.
I happen to think the details matter. Love the fact that they got to a bowl game in Florida after 1/1, but I don't think it justifies a 7-yr extension...
Ok, I could see perhaps giving him an extension of a few years w/ a moderate pay raise but 7 years at $3.9mm per season after not having beaten a bowl team (if I understood other posters correctly) or a team w/ a record above .500?? Are you serious? That is Glass's last hurrah. Well done...
Agreed. I'm usually not critical of coaches b/c it's just a sport but that was pathetic. The two players on the end were 10-15 yards from where any legit coach would have them lined up in that situation. Did they or are they asking about them in the presser? Doyle better light them up tomorrow...
