Bennett hints at changing his "system"

Lifer - I've watched a lot of UVA, you'd LOVE him at IU. He has a .729 winning percentage at UVA. RMK had a .730 winning percentage at IU. He's had UVA finish in the top 20, 10 of his 15 years there. And from all accounts he's an incredible person.

Bennett hints at changing his "system"

IU should make an offer to Bennett. Provide him a basketball GM that will handle NIL/recruiting - so Tony can just coach and lead players. UVA doesn't have the money to keep players around for 3-4 years, and his system needs that. Have heard he's looking for a situation like this. IU could...

    Another piece on CMW's tenure...

We've reached an odd point where 90-95 percent of the fan base and media are completely done with Woodson. Yet he's still coaching.

Honestly, what's the point in following this if Woodson is back?

    St. Mary's, Miami, Nebraska

Three years, three end of season losses by: 29, 26, 27 points. What is the thought process in giving Woodson a 4th bite of the apple? Even if you've never coached or played basketball, it has to be obvious by now that Woodson can't coach. And he's not exactly a great rep for the University...

    Juwan Howard Fired

Thank goodness IU followed the Michigan model in hiring Woodson along with a sage former head coach to show him the ropes.

Don’t kid yourself. You WILL buy tickets for next year, and you’re gonna LOVE it.

It'd be tough to find a less inspiring or likeable college coach. Maybe Juwan Howard and he's about to get fired.

    Postgame press conference.

Example 127 of Woodson acting like he's doing the IU fanbase this great favor by coaching IU.

Worst Loss in the Woody Era?

The NCAA tournament losses to St. Mary's and Miami. No compete in either.

    Does Woodson resign?

Similar to what Louisville did with Payne, IU should negotiate some sort of buy out for Woodson to resign. He can't be enjoying this. And in his heart, he has to know he's not a college coach.

    Coaching hires…

Guessing you only watch IU play. Saw Drake play last year in Albany right before IU and the movement, passing and intensity level was night and day compared to IU. Fun to watch. And FWIW, Painter was Missouri Valley, Brad Stevens Horizon. If you can coach, you can coach.

    Coaching hires…

A coach in Iowa that would be a good fit for IU is DeVries from Drake. Drake had Miami beat last year in the tournament, that was a senior led team. This year Drake has a bunch of young guys and DeVries son, and they're even better, averaging 80ppg.

    Your Age and when

March 8, 1986. IU at Michigan for the regular season title on CBS. We lived out of state, so unless you were early on cable, you'd only get the handful of nationally televised games to see IU every year. Michigan destroyed IU that day, and got the #2 seed in the Midwest. IU got the #3 seed...

I Don't Understand All The Negativity Towards Woody

I'm as optimistic as you get, but also been coaching basketball for over a decade and watching college basketball for 40 years. We are not a well coached basketball team. And for those who can't see that, I'd honestly be interested in how much college basketball you watch outside of IU games.

what has been your lowest point with IU basketball

I truly believe IU has hit rock bottom. There has been so bad times - the 2004 team (which is the closest comp for this year's team). The decimated roster post Sampson. But this year's team is unwatchable. They have to bring in a new coach next year. This season is forcing their hand.

    Solutions

Bates struggled creating his own shot -- which you basically have to do under Woodson. IU does not create a lot of open looks through their sets. So unless you're a NBA talent, or there is a TJD demanding an automatic double, guys are going to struggle shooting under Woodson. You see this on...

    Coach, you've been 'awful'

Agree. On top of that Woodson has bad body language and energy on the sidelines. And he's not getting any younger. Not sure I've ever felt less optimistic in the direction of IU basketball. And that's saying something over the last two decades.

    Dusty May….

Haha. Would hate to give up all of this! I love watching FAU play and their movement on offense (very few on ball screens and good spacing) which is a product of a well run FLEX.

    Stay in Atlanta Woodson

Low energy, bad body language on the sidelines. This too shall pass, but it's going to be a long winter.

    PU vs UT

This comment will get destroyed, but Purdue is fun to watch. They play hard. They are limited athletically, but get great movement on offense and their players seem to know and embrace their role. They're going to be a one seed again.
