Why is "Edey is just tall" such a controversial take?

No. I wasn’t really trying to compare the two, just that many players in the NBAs best attribute is one that they were born with, yet they still play in the NBA.

Why is "Edey is just tall" such a controversial take?

I did mention his competitive nature, which along with his athleticism were his greatest attributes imo. I don’t think anyone would have called him a great shooter. I would agree that Edey’s skillset does not translate well to the current NBA, but that hardly matters while he is in college.

Why is "Edey is just tall" such a controversial take?

How many players currently in the NBA would be there if they were only average athletes. That’s the flaw with this type logic. I don’t personally view athleticism as a skillset, but almost required to play in the league.

Why is "Edey is just tall" such a controversial take?

It’s kind of like saying Jordan was only a great athlete. He was a tremendous athlete but add extreme competitor and the fact that he built his skillset to maximize his god-given athleticism and you have one of the best of all time.

    Sorry Purdue but it's over

But who is that team if not one they’ve already beaten?? NC, Houston, UConn? They would play two of them at most. They’ve already played and beaten Marquette and Tenn, two teams that win by turning you over. Previous wins mean nothing in this tournament but the have shown they can win those...

    Free Throws 46 - 8

I guess the real question is if Edey is mucking up the game or the opposition while trying to compete with Edey?

    Free Throws 46 - 8

Purdue missed 17 free throws and Northwestern shot 27 3s and hit better than 50% from 3 and 58% overall.

Penn St and Pickett can’t throw it into the ocean today!!!

Don’t hold up your end to make the final, whine about every other team.

Penn St and Pickett can’t throw it into the ocean today!!!

The goal of the ref is not to make an even number of calls. It’s to call a foul a foul.

Penn St and Pickett can’t throw it into the ocean today!!!

What you don’t see is that if they call additional fouls on Edey they are likely to call many more fouls on Edey defenders.

    Rutgers/PU

I’m not aware of a running into the scrum rule. He was given a common foul, not flagrant. Not smart but supporting his teammate. As you mentioned, flop on Mulcahys part, but still a foul.

    Rutgers/PU

But who can imagine Rutgers with only 1 foul the first 11:30 of the half??

Official Game Thread: Indiana at Purdue

    Kinda like the whining here?

Much of purdue nation thought you got mugged last night just like we did on Sunday.

That’s pretty simple minded. There were aggressive defenses before Keady. Were the other 9 coaches just following Keady?

    Rutgers IU

9pm is also a tough time. When the product is good, fans will show up.

    Zach Edey

Just like an ultra quick guy gives him a massive advantage over the competition. Countless past players have had an innate advantage but lacked the headspace or desire to be excellent.

    Zach Edey

His track record has been using his elbow to hook the defender and get around him. It’s rarely called, yet is a foul. Teams need to be able to adjust to how the officials are calling the game. I don’t dislike any player benefitting from officials calls. It’s not their job to call it.

    Catching Purdue

Courtsense talking out of his rear there. West Lafayette/Purdue are much more liberal than the state, as I imagine Bloomington/IU are.

Anyone know a backstory as to why…

And others murder people and take peoples life savings. People do really stupid things regardless of where they went to school.
