If FB is cancelled, little hope for BB

I wasn't really expecting to see basketball in 2020, since schools announced that the fall semester would end at Thanksgiving and students wouldn't be back on campus until the end of Christmas break.

Could the conference look into having non conference games with only in state schools?

We kind of have an advantage in us and Purdue could schedule games against Notre Dame or Ball St., or Indiana St to fill in for games that would be lost?

    Justin Smith transfer

Kind of surprised he's transferring, I thought that since he'd gotten input from pro scouts when he put his name in the draft that he'd sign with a G League team and go from there.

    RIP Don Shula

I posted this in the football forum, but thought I'd post this here, too, because if anyone could appreciate a guy that can coach a team to an undefeated season and championship, it's IU basketball fans. He died this morning at the age of 90. The article I read didn't give a cause of death.

Got a grad transfer that will help

Jovan Swann, who played at Center Grove and was Indiana's High School Defensive Player of the Year in 2015, announced he's coming here this season. He played in 39 games (started 19) for Stanford and had 85 tackles (18.5 for loss) and 11.5 sacks over his career for the Cardinal.

Will the NCAA go as far as to cancel the tournament?

Oh, I have no doubt that it would be cancelled if there was a positive test. I was just thinking hypothetically if we make it through the conference tournaments with no problem, as an attempt to lessen the number of people that could be exposed, it would be only the conference champions playing...

Will the NCAA go as far as to cancel the tournament?

Or, if they did decide to go forward with it, would you be ok with them restricting it to, say, only involve the conference champions?

NCAA cancels CBI over Coronavirus concern

When I heard this, I was shocked, SHOCKED. I wasn't even sure if that thing was still around.

2 Nebraska Football players added to basketball roster

    Nebraska's version of Julius Peppers?

    Valpo/Bradley

Same thing with Northern Iowa losing to Drake Friday. MVC champ will have "stolen" (in that it will be someone who probably wouldn't have gotten in the NCAA tournament otherwise) a bid.

Lol that’s how you blow a 9 pt lead

I was kind of referring to how we always seem to "put the wagon in front of the horse" after each season when it comes to next year's Freshmen.

Small conference school that could pull an upset in the NCAAs

Is Liberty. Watching them in A-Sun championship game and their not looking too bad. They're 29-4 and have beaten Vanderbilt and Akron (#1 MAC East) and lost to LSU by 17

Lol that’s how you blow a 9 pt lead

I'm getting the strangest feeling of deja vu, like we were saying stuff like this about Romeo and TJD. Anyone else, or is it just me?

    Fire him now!

Big 10 records through three years for the coaches that have made it this long since Bob Knight: Mike Davis: 29-19 Tom Crean 2010/11-2012/13: 28-26 (giving him a pass on the first 2 years) Archie Miller: 26-32

    On to Minnesota

Literally just got an update on my phone from the ESPN app while reading this thread that still has us as one of the last 4 in. I think that means these next 2 games are MUST WINS and we would need to win at least one game in the Big 10 tournament to remain in.

    OT: RIP Indiana Beach

Lol, oh, how quickly people forget about Holiday World in one of the most strangely named towns ever, Santa Claus, Indiana.

    OT: RIP Indiana Beach

Went there a couple of times when I was growing up. Didn't realize it had been in operation for 94 years.
