What's IU looking like in 2020?

I don't believe that a WR is likely to beat you ON HIS OWN. I mean, if he's heavily targeted, he'll get 8-10 touches. And they're not all going to go for 25 yards or TDs. I reserve that kind of anxiety for top flight QBs or RBs. I have been very clear that I think Moore is an absolutely...

What's IU looking like in 2020?

I'm honestly not as worried about RM being back on paper. He's electric and an incredible asset to PU, but he doesn't scare me that much on his own. Where it makes me considerably more nervous about the damage he can do is RM + Bell + Brohm's ability to call plays that put these guys in a...

Will Big Ten teams play 8 games or will B1G trend like other P5s?

Lighten up man. No one is going to be ducking games out of cowardice. And there's not going to be any B1G conspiracy to deprive OSU of its season with the 'ol Blue Flu. Obviously. But just try to imagine the entirety of Buckeye Nations' heads exploding if their team couldn't on the field...

Will Big Ten teams play 8 games or will B1G trend like other P5s?

That is the single most petty thing I could conceive of a collection of college sports program doing to another. AND. I. FREAKING. WANT. TO SEE IT.

    Does UN belong

UN was spoiled by 30 years at the top of a conference with 2 teams at the top and, at most, 1 other team having a generational team. Beating Kansas, Missouri, & Iowa St. but losing the Orange Bowl got old, but then the moves to the Big 12 & Big 10 were a rude awakening for them.

What's IU looking like in 2020?

If there's any silver lining to the B1G East difficulty, it's that a poor record could end up with a favorable +1 matchup.

What's IU looking like in 2020?

To be 100% honest, I think IU & Purdue are both operating within the same big range of W-L records, just like last year. Other than OSU, IU doesn't have any super low probability games.

What's IU looking like in 2020?

IU has the best depth across the board they've had in a long time. But they also have good "COVID depth." By that I mean that they have the depth to withstand a random assortment of quarantines across different positions. The position groups I'm most concerned with for COVID depth is QB, OL...

Any insight on health of HOOSIERS?

No insight, but from interviews during the summer, Penix sure looks bigger. By the time the season kicks off, Stevie will be like 11 months post-injury. So if he's not 100% by then, in the words of Sir Smokes-a-Lot, "I wanna talk to Sampson." The extra 7 weeks off for Stevie may end up being...

Big Ten schedule on Fox right now

I'm all-in on IU upsetting PSU to kick off the season. Last season was a heartbreaker because of (a) Whop's muffed punt after making PSU go 3 & out on the opening possession and (b) causing a fumble with the score 14-17 PSU and then giving it back on a fumble two plays later. IU certainly...

    FYI . . . Ivory Winters is no longer on SEMO's roster . . .

I felt pretty bad for him, kind of like I did for Nick Zachary from Sheridan that came to IU a few years ago. He was the MAN at a serious football school for 4 years (3-1 in 4 state finals appearances). But the school & town are also pretty tiny. I don't think he lasted through his first...

The Mrs said no one would get the joke, but my response would be: Is it a boy goat or a girl goat? Because I'm not gay.

    All time Hoosiers NFL (offense)

Can't put AT in there for NFL career. Tevin Coleman and Jordan Howard have had significantly more productive NFL careers so far. I had to go to Pro Football Reference to check too. We're heavy on the old-timers holding it down in the NFL...

BIG 10 expected to approve fall football season within the next 72 hours…. Developing…

I don't think we actually disagree to any real extent. Like, if the other 3 P5 conferences close up shop by Week 5, the B1G looks prescient and made a good, if very risk-averse choice. It's the Hamlet routine of "will they or won't they" that is a bad look for the conference. Whether they...

BIG 10 expected to approve fall football season within the next 72 hours…. Developing…

A lot of national & B1G fans have been really hard on the conference, commish, ADs, and college presidents/admin about the postponement. I've seen/heard lots say how foolish they look. If they go forward with fall football, I'm hopeful for the best and a successful season in every sense of the...

    Minnesota cutting 3 sports

IU has a $2B endowment. Float the Athletic Department for a year. I can't imagine they'd be able to save any significant amounts of money by cutting the likely losers anyway, (wrestling, tennis, field hockey, rowing).

    Stream 2019 Games?

If you do find them, reminder to have quite a bit of beer laying around for OSU & UM. :)

    Would you rather....

I'd choose A if I have to choose one. And that's just to protect the boys' bodies ahead of the 2021 season. Although in reality, I'm all-in with 76-1's proposal.

    BYU vs. Navy

I think that's the current plan. But if schools keep bumping games around because of positive tests, I have no clue how that's going to end up being feasible.

    BYU vs. Navy

Just so I don't look like a dolt, I was referencing their planned 2020 schedule before COVID wrecked everything as being a pretty tough independent schedule: 09/03 – at Utah 09/12 – Michigan State 09/19 – at Arizona State 09/26 – at Minnesota 10/02 – Utah State 10/10 – Missouri 10/16 – Houston...
