Why I think a coaching change has to be made

I was with you, warily, but on board with this through the end last year. But seeing Underwood, Howard, Holtman, and Paykel leap frog their programs past Archies last year and this year...and the recruiting issues, that I now think might be systemic because of the system he runs...Im officially...

Why I think a coaching change has to be made

At this point you might be right. If he had come in and Archie forced him to spend hours upon hours working on his handles and shooting, and followed it up with using him more on the perimeter...I’m guessing he’d be serviceable enough as a spot shooter, and comfortable enough handling the ball...

Why I think a coaching change has to be made

Its difficult to see a National POY candidate and make the case he isn’t being used properly. He’s averaging nearly 20 and 10?! But how he’s getting those numbers is holding him back, and our team as well. In a nutshell, my opinion is predominately low post positioning and play, with high ball...

Why I think a coaching change has to be made

From an overall wins and losses/program standards standpoint being a bubble team again should not be acceptable for Indiana basketball. From the perspective of where our program sits versus our conference peers. I don’t see Archie passing any of the established good coaches like Izzo...

Game analysis is easy in this one

I think any team at or near .500 in the Big Ten last year and/or this year is solid. The problem is other programs have made hires near or after we did that have resulted in better than solid results. Howard, Paikel, Underwood, Holtman...they all have their programs in better shape than Archie...

Game analysis is easy in this one

KenPom numbers don’t tell the whole story, obviously as we know with Archies last couple IU teams. But they do paint a decent picture. And from KenPOm his last two teams have been solid. His and our problem is merely solid, in the Big Ten these last two years means you hover around .500 and...

Game analysis is easy in this one

My guess is he ends up with another decent mid major job. He does really well because he happens to find a couple guys that can make a 3 or two. And then ends back up at a Power 5 school somewhere 5-6 years from now. His programs are consistently good/solid. We’re a solid team. We just have...

Just a total dumpster fire of a game

Refs were horrible. Missed a ton of free throws. Couldnt hit 3s. Couldnt guard 3s. Guards were absolutely horrible. A typical Purdue game under Archie. This should be his last season. Won’t be obviously. But should.

Game analysis is easy in this one

They have college level shooters. We don’t. I give Archie credit enough that we don’t get beat by 30 by these teams. But in the end, you gotta have at least average shooters these days. And for whatever reason Archie hasn’t found any. And he should lose his job for it at this point.

    "Terrible" Terps take down Illini

2 conference wins for the turtles... the other was at Wisky. Strange. This conference is brutal.

Anyone see anything better than 15-12 regular season?

Agreed. Tough one though because championship week is a huge moneymaker. And it has such a big overall impact on the at large process as well. Assuming Covid is still a huge issue in March, what you wrote should absolutely happen. And I could see the Big Ten doing it. Not many others would...

Anyone see anything better than 15-12 regular season?

The only argument against that is that would imply 1 more win against a very highly rated team. And I’m not sure there’s a single “bad loss” in the B10 this year. Not sure of Nebraska’s NET, but by the end of the year, with how many top 50 NET games they’ll have on their schedule (pretty much...

Anyone see anything better than 15-12 regular season?

that’s assuming we have a Big Ten tourney, which I wouldn’t assume at this point.

Anyone see anything better than 15-12 regular season?

As of today, my guess would be... 13-14...bubble, probably not in 14-13...bubble, likely in 15-12...safely in, 7-10 seed 16-11...6-9 seed 17-10...5-8 seed This isn’t a normal year. There were 4-6 teams in football bowl games. There are no Ivy League teams. There will be other Covid issues...

Anyone see anything better than 15-12 regular season?

Huh? Our reaction to it would determine that, yes. But getting in or not is entirely dependent on our play on the court and the resume. 10-10 should never elicit a big celebration at Indiana. But if it’s followed by a decent NCAA showing, it’d be absurd to not see it as progress. Good enough...

Anyone see anything better than 15-12 regular season?

100% is. It was last year. And it’d be an even stronger resume this year. Doesn’t mean its worth celebrating. But if we end at 15-12. We’re in and not even a bubble team probably.

Beat ourselves with missed layups(Race and Trace) and

Yep. Byproduct of not having a Trice like perimeter player. With Franklin out, the ball has to go through TJD, wherever we can get him the ball. In the last couple minutes, He turned it over for a layup. And missed a pretty easy play/shot at the end. it’s probably now up over a dozen times...

Anyone see anything better than 15-12 regular season?

Not saying I’d be doing cart wheels over 15-12. But 10-10 in this years Big Ten, means we’d likely have 6-7 quality wins. And no bad losses. That’d be more quality wins than pretty much any ACC, SEC, Big East, or PAC12 team would likely have. And it’d safely get us in the tourney I’m sure...

I feel like there’s something stirring

TJDs NBA decision will play a major role in that. I know he’s not high on the draft boards, but if he keeps throwing out 20 and 10s...there will be enough interested teams to draw him out, in my opinion. And if he leaves, we’ll take a step backwards.
