Mea Culpa

I predicted 42-14. It was 47-10. My bad. I'm still cautious but now it has nothing to do with IU but the fact that, in my lifetime, I've never seen an IU football team like this. How do I act? I find myself feeling like a hiker in the woods and night has fallen, hoping you don't step off a cliff, that the other shoe doesn't drop, that you don't discover where the chickens have come to roost. You can't discount the remaining games (even if Purdue is sucking) but 12-0? Why the hell not. I may grow hair, win the lottery or take a beautiful Colombian bride. Seems all manner of miracles are possible.

No Love from ESPN on Sportscenter...

I only saw one highlight from the game and it was N. Marsh's nice TD catch for MSU on Top 10 Plays of the Day. The only other mention was from Chris Fowler who briefly lumped IU into the "Sitting Pretty category" with the other B1G three..OSU, PSU and Oregon for the Playoffs. I guess the peeing match with Peacock keeps the highlight reel to a minimum. Gees!
I guess we just have to keep on decleating our opponents and finish unbeaten to finally get the Love this team deserves!!
Go Hoosiers!!

Abridged MSU Post Game Notes

• The three-straight victories in East Lansing mark the longest road winning streak since winning three straight from 1967-69.

• The 47 points scored are the most by IU in series history and the 37-point victory is the largest by an IU team over MSU. The previous high was 46 points scored (2001) and a 31-point margin (31-0; 1991).

• Indiana used 47 unanswered points after Michigan State took a 10-0 lead. The 47-unanswered points are believed to be a program record.

• Indiana starts a season 9-0 for the first time in program history and ties the most wins in a single season in program history (1945, 1967).

• A 6-0 start in Big Ten play marks the best six-game start to a conference slate and tie for most B1G wins in program history (1967, 1987, 2020).

• With his ninth win in 2024, head coach Curt Cignetti set the program record for wins by a first-year head coach, passing James M. Sheldon (8 wins; 1905).

• The nine-game winning streak is the longest streak in program history. The previous record was eight consecutive games in the 1945 and 1967 seasons.

• The double-digit win extends Indiana's program-record streak to nine-straight games winning by 10-plus points.

• WIth 47 points scored, Indiana now has a program-record seven games of 40-plus points in 2024.

• Michigan State's minus-36 rushing yards are the fewest allowed by an Indiana defense in program history. The previous mark was minus-32 yards against William & Mary in 2002.

• The rushing mark gives IU six games holding the opponent under 100-yards rushing, to tie the 1990 squad for the most such games in a single season since at least 1950.

• With Amare Ferrell's multi-pick game, it is the first time since 2020 that Indiana had a player with multiple interceptions in back-to-back games. That season, Tiawan Mullen (2; at Michigan State) and Jamar Johnson (2; at Ohio State)

• The zero sacks allowed in back-to-back Big Ten games mark the first time since 2001 that IU hasn't surrendered a sack in consecutive conference games. IU didn't allow a sack in five-straight games from Sept. 29-Nov. 3, 2001.

o$u Fans

Same ole same ole, talking with one of their fans today. Commented on Nebraska games for the two teams
First answer- playing o$u is everybody's super bowl.
Second answer- they were looking ahead to PSU.

Just can't admit they might not be as good as they thought they were.

Same guy told me that it was a pretty good showing against Oregon considering "they had to fly clear out to the west coast".

Always an excuse, never can admit they could be beaten by a better team.

Sure would like to kick their butts in a few weeks.
But next game up. Beat MSU.
