Mike Greenburg was complaining about IU being ranked ahead of Alabama

says if the met on a neutral field Bama would be favored by 2 touchdowns, I think that may be a little extreme but would concede Bama would be a prohibitive favorite, following his logic should Las Vegas do the polls instead of the ap and coaches? F the SEC, we beat UCLA on the road by more than LSU did at home

Oregon Impressions

Only one game and perhaps the Ahia game would have been a better one to judge, but I wasn't all that impressed in their last game.

I thought their pass game was as good as ours as well as their pass defense.

Their running game looked nowhere near where ours is and their run defense was easily manipulated by Purdue spreading the field and going one on one.

Good team vs a bad team but #2? If so, we are awfully close to that.

Early Voting

So my wife and I went to Bedford and voted early. Democrats and Republicans both in the room. Had to show valid drivers license to vote. It was checked against your registration. Why do democrats fight against Voter ID?

With early voting I don’t get the need for millions of mail in voters.

Some Thoughts On Our Whosiers

1. I can’t believe how many podcast shows are related to Nebraska. And they are all in shock for the same reason - they still thought we were “just Indiana.” No real respect. They bought the rat poison about the Nebraska defense being the end of the New Indiana. The stats about our offense and our defense did not get through to the brains that still think the past plays on Saturday. “Indiana has the worst historical record.” OK. How you like us now? Cig has taken a bunch of guys that NO talking head knew about last year and made them the biggest threat to the old status quo since NIL and The Portal were imagined. He had faith in and respect for the “little guys” - the Unknowns - and turned them into The Whosiers - kids now taking the norm by storm! The Cardiac Kids.2. Another Indiana team that ain’t supposed to be here.

2. Test 1 was win at UCLA - the “historical” power. Passed. Test 2 was Maryland - the up-and-coming coach who could recruit. Passed. Test 3 - keep NW from getting off the mat at NWHS stadium. Passed. Test 4 - survive the vaunted Nebraska defense. Passed 56 times. Who are these guys? These New Whosiers? Test 5 - beat Washington, who went big with our guys, and beat a No. 10 Michigan … but we gotta win with a back up QB. Challenge accepted. See ya at the yard.

3. Prepare thyself - the Rat Poison this week will double.

So talking about the game with Wifey

We both agreed on what our favorite game segment was. Late 3rd, and extending into the early 4th quarter, Nebraska was mounting maybe their best drive of the game. IU had the #2 and 3 depth players in on defense. Nebraska ended up getting to first and goal on the IU 6. All of the sudden, you see the entire D get subbed out for our starters. Forget about it bitches.

Good times

Big Nebraska Fan

We should all be big Nebraska fans going forward. The national perspective of this IU team has started to shift but if they were to win on Saturday vs. Ohio State, I would venture to guess it would be jarring for most across the country. I know that isn't very likely, but I will have my 'Go Big Red' hat on no matter the case.

I think the largest reason the nation is having a hard time coming to grips with this is because it's not really been done to this level before. Yes, coaches have come in and turned teams around. Bad teams have also gone from awful to good in a year. You don't take an awful team last year at a program with the most losses in CFB history and turn them in a genuine title contender of the superpower two conferences, in year one. The only way it happens is because of the current open portal situation that didn't exist until more recently. I expect we may see things like this happen to other programs periodically in the future but it sure is fun (possibly) watching this team be the first one.

It's been a wild ride so far. In Tayven We Trust.

Coach Cigs next big challenge

Coach Cig has two new challenges this week and both are really big. The obvious one is not having Rourke available. I kept hearing Joel Klatt say that Rourke’s strength was his ability to process quickly based on what the defense was doing. Jackson is athletic and has a strong arm (touch?), but can he process quickly/correctly? Second, Coach Cigs says frequently the team needs to guard against complacency; after a dominant win in front of a national audience last week, will the team build on this or will some complacency set in? I think UW will be a tougher opponent than Nebraska.

What an incredible and improbable season. As a 60 year IU fan at times it just doesn’t seem real. Thank you Coach Cig!

Coach Cig Pre Game Interview

Die anyone catch the pre game sideline interview with Coach?

….”Well that’s what winning does. Winning puts people in the ****ing stands”.

I don’t care for the language and particularly on live television. Following that statement the Interview ends and he jogs to the IU sideline. It was abundantly clear to me that he had this team ready to play. Amazing what he has done for the program. Almost like a modern day Knight in football. Dude is a winner and doesn’t give a sh*t what anyone thinks or says. Determined to win. Google him!
