What do Dave Rubin,Tim Pool and (dmb fave) Bennie Johnson have in common?

The average person has likely never heard of them. Yet...

They are all 3 part of the "Bro network" of far right commentators with their own youtube channels. All of them are internet famous and all of them have channels with over a million or more subscribers.Content from all 3 come across my subscription playlist daily,, so II feel comfortable in saying that none of them strike me as mensa level content creators. They have figured out that grifting the right wing is a tried and true formula, and as a result they make far more than what I feel their intelligence should warrant. But evidently thousands of paying customers view them differently...

But they may be about to progress from internet fame, to a level of scrutiny and exposure they might not actually want. We had a thread on the DOJ announcing a probe of Russian election interference today, and the breaking news is that 2 Russian businessmen have been indicted. The charges include money laundering and failing to egister as foreign agents. The two men are connected with Russia Today (RT) which is basically Putin's private propaganda network and are charged with funneling millions of $$ to a variety of shell companies leading to a media publisher (Tenet Media) that publishes pro-Russian videos on Tik Tok,Twitter, Instagram and youtube.

And Tenet Media features 6 commenters as it's "talent" including Rubin,Pool and Benny. Now none of the 6 are included in the indictment and they will likely maintain that they were unwittingly used. But if you examine the content produced by all 3 you'll easily notice the pro-Russia/anti-Ukraine orientation as well as the very pronouced pro Tump theme which permeates everything they do. Tenet worked in tandem with RT, but the connection was never disclosed. And it appears the stated aim was to exacerbate political differences in the US in the interest of the Russians.

An example of the type of misinformation they spread, was the claim that the terrorists who attacked the Moscow music Hall were from Ukraine. Even though the perps were arrested and the Islamic State claimed responsibility, RT thru Tenet and it's talent ran a campaign to discredit the Islamic State connection and tried to pin the blame on Ukraine.RT hired trolls to infiltrate the discord and comments sections of content produced by Tenet's talent who pretended to be members/followers urging them to publish more of the pro-Russian video content. From Oct 2023 to Aug 2024 the Indictment alleges that RT sent wire transfers totalling 9.7 Million to Tenet and Tenet in turn paid 8,7 Million of that to the production companies of the 3 stooges...

Here is an example of the content created. This is Tim Pool, and his beanie...

I have been banned from that thread bc I hate circle so thought I’d respond here. @Grateful Redbeard just attacked our pastor and in so doing noted what walz signed.

"The Minnesota law allows courts to have “temporary emergency jurisdiction” during custody disputes crossing state lines if a child has been unable to obtain gender-affirming care. Kat Rohn, executive director of OutFront, an LGBTQ+ advocacy organization in St. Paul, Minn., said the law gives courts the ability to resolve conflicts when parents disagree on whether their child should receive gender-affirming care; it does not remove custody from parents who decline such care.

@CO. Hoosier @BradStevens @TheOriginalHappyGoat leaving aside that this is bat shit crazy from walz who more and more seems like a batshit crazy woke lunatic this is our prior discussion re family court orders. By my own admission I don’t remember anything about conflicts, choice of law, standing etc. but I don’t understand how this can fly.

I’m in fla. Ex is in Georgia. I file in fla. My ex wants my 12 year old minion to get hormone blockers. They zip off to minny and now I’m subject to the vagaries of a local minny judge and his inculcated community stds? Our fla Ct is somehow divested of jurisdiction? What if I get a protective order in fla circuit court. What if my judge who presided over the case in fla circuit ct denies mom’s request. what if he denies her request and it's therefore not included in the final judgment. and there is a final judgment. mn ct can still hear it? bizarre shit.

What am I missing. There’s something I forgot or don’t understand

Thumbnail overview of W. Illinois

From S.I.:

Looks like the only possible surprises might be on the defensive side of the ball where their top two players weren't in the game last week... If they show up Friday night we might get a little better workout than expected but it's unlikely that even their presence will be enough to give us a serious scare...

Looks like the perfect match up for a week two tune up to get ready for the trip out west...

The only way we lose this game is if our Team is even more overconfident about this matchup then I am and find several ways to beat themselves...

From The Atlantic: During a conversation onstage at a Moms for Liberty event last week, Donald Trump said something that made even me—a seasoned visitor to Trump’s theme park of hyperbole—look around in confusion at the people around me in the audience.

“The transgender thing is incredible,” he told the Moms for Liberty co-founder Tiffany Justice. “Think of it; your kid goes to school, and he comes home a few days later with an operation. The school decides what’s going to happen with your child.”

Okay, one of two options in play here. One, Trump has completely lost his mind. Two, Trump believes the audience he is addressing are total Morans and will accept anything he tells them as true.

I’d vote for both options being correct.

Dear Coach Cig, re: Attendance

We know it sucks, at least in 2nd halves. You knew it when you took the job. Everybody knows it - it's hard to hide.

You are paid a shit-ton of money, and IU paid a shit-ton of money so you could keep the same staff. NIL money exceeded your expectations, and I imagine the JMU transfers got a big chunk of the available NIL funds.

IU has provided state-of-the-art facilities - something no other coach, other than maybe Allen - has had.

The pieces are there. All you have to do is win. That's your job. But what have you done to help attendance? Have you held student rallies, like Lee Corso used to do, at Frats and dorms? Are you visible around campus, greeting students and shaking hands? Maybe you are - if so, I haven't heard anything about it. But you know what doesn't work? Whining about a known problem in post-game press conferences.

Stop listening to people like Buck Suhr and Don Fisher, who have never paid for an IU football ticket in their lives (maybe Suhr at some point, but I doubt it) and sit in air conditioned press boxes who whine about attendance. Stop listening to the media, who also get free passes and sit in air conditioned press boxes, whine about attendance.

I know you're busy during the season, but get close to, and identify with, the fans. Did you go on any kind of media tour of the state, visiting high schools and glad-handing alumni groups? If so, good for you. If not, start doing it.

I say this, believing you are the answer to so many of our football prayers. You've done and said the right things. You are on the right track. But this obsession with attendance is a side distraction to your real job of winning. You do that and the attendance problem will be fixed. Please don't judge IU on a blazing hot/humid holiday weekend. The weather will improve and, with wins, fans will stick around.

Unfortunately, you're not gonna like the attendance this Saturday. EDIT: Oops, Friday night.

Love and kisses,
DANC

Leathernecks were crushed by NIU.

I’m sure IU will pay the Leathernecks more than NIU did for a 54-15 victory. FIU would be favored v. the Leathernecks. The visitor has a distinct disadvantage, in a Friday night contest after an away game on Saturday. I think IU will just keep pounding the rock, and play 2s and redshirts a lot.

We might not want to be “too” good this year

Looking like FSU, Florida, and maybe even LSU could all be looking for coaches after this year.

With Cigs already proven track record of quickly turning programs around…a 7-8+ win season this year, and I would all but guarantee he’d be a top candidate for one of those schools.

3 non con
Purdue
Maryland
Nebraska
UCLA
One more somewhere

It’d be a good thing to worry about. But would be the most “IU football thing” ever if he had a great year and the timing lined up that 3 schools like that were looking for a quick turnaround guy.

Ideas to keep fans in seats all game long....

I am sure this has been discussed many, many times, but Cig noted it in his post-game comments. So what can be done?

Some (maybe dumb) ideas.

1) Turn in ticket with 5 min left in game or after for free IU gear.

2) Free or discounted food in the 4th quarter.

3) Optionally, you can have your ticket scanned when leaving to accumulate points to use for better seats next season, apply points for basketball season, or other gear.

Probably some logistical issues with some of them.

What say you?
