what do you suppose is the IU Ath Dept thinking? Give up and take the licks? Or "omg we gotta get our shit together so we don't look like complete idiots"? Or does football not really matter to them and they're just excited about the basketball matchups and other sports?

Outside of Big Ten revenue, and a lot of fans who like tailgating, there isn't much anything to build on for IU right now.

I-69 can get fans to the town quicker, but they fail to get them to the parking lots. In stadium game day experience is poor. Team is at rock bottom.

They have to care about football for the big ten revenue. They can't build other sports if fan interest completely dies off. Don't know how they fix it.

When they have 25k show up for games, my guess is they know it's time to make a move.

The potential cost of keeping Allen will outweigh the big buyout. That's exactly where things stand at this point.
