He is going to be a very formidable candidate. The Spanish speaking Republican nominee.
Well the Clinton speech was a rerun also. I just think the message was well delivered and the fluent Spanish is going to win some support. The demographic problem of the African American 90%, which will hold in this election and the female desire to win the Whitehouse makes Hillary almost unbeatable. It is Clintons to loose. Here's my problem with the speech . . . essentially he said - like he's said many times before - that he'd want to govern as a Compassionate Conservative. Where have we heard that before?
For better or worse, pretty much everything he's doing is making him seem like more of the same Bush that 41 (my preferred version) and 43 presented. I sure hope we can do better than that . . .
. . . of course the counter-argument might be that practice makes perfect, or that the 3rd times the charm . . .
. . . I'm still at meh re: Jeb. He's going to have to show me he's got more and better to offer than his predecessor Bush presidents before I would vote for him.
But a rerun of the Clinton years seems a lot more positive than a rerun of the Bush years.I agree Sope but Hillary is certainly not the answer. She is a retread/run without anything new. Go back eight years and same old same old.

Been reading, just not posting much lately. Hillary isn't my first choice, but if it's between Hilalry another Bush, I'd vote for her. Although I always thought he's the one that should have run instead of W.She's back! Missed you! Don't think so - Hillary can't hold a candle to Bill!. She is the most egotistical candidate in either party in the field.
Rubio and Walker were in my top 3 along with long shot Jindal. If he ever became a candidate you'd vote for, his candidacy would be doomed. Surely you realize that.
Jeb's going to have to rely on the other candidates taking each other out and essentially enabling him to win the nomination by default -- like McCain and Romney did.
Not sure that's in the cards with contenders like (in particular) Rubio and Walker. Michelle Bachmann, Newt Gingrich, and Herman Cain they aren't.
Ah, yes. Let's debate about which version of going backwards would be better. But a rerun of the Clinton years seems a lot more positive than a rerun of the Bush years.
I'd like a liberal informed opinion on who IS your first choice, please. Who is your first choice?Been reading, just not posting much lately. I'd guess that's something that we can ALL agree with!Donald - Another consumed with his own ego. Narcissistic
Ok...what did I do? ( and just in case it's egregious , in full disclosure, I had a medical procedure and have been loopy for two days). Oops, never mind, caught it. And grammar is my thing too. I need an excused on drugs clause though. ( Everything is fine and they are good drugs, but now I need to nap! )

I like your picks. I don't think Rubio isn't ready yet. I like the idea of a governor like Walker and Jindal. Jeb's common core and immigration stand will cost him the nomination.Rubio and Walker were in my top 3 along with long shot Jindal.

Did you listen to Trump today? While he is crude, and completely unelectable, he does raise points that others won't touch about the competitive landscape the US is in. I don't doubt what he is saying. I question if his way of doing business would work as President. Several comments made me wince, but others reminded me how robotic ALL the candidates for 2016 sound. I like that he is willing to call out either party and his one-liners would keep us entertained, but he isn't Presidential material. The Washington media will hate him.
I'd go Walker Rubio because I usually like the idea of governors running because they have executive experience.Rubio and Walker were in my top 3 along with long shot Jindal.

I'm not really sure what a "liberal" is, but for me it would be Bernie. The only decent human being in DC, a true patriot, and a true constitutionalist. I know I know, he called himself a socialist and he shouldn't have because he's not. There's absolutely nothing he wants to do that the constitution doesn't already allow for.
So Bernie's a great guy...who lies about what he is?
I'd argue that most American socialists just don't embrace the label because, fairly or unfairly, it has such a bad connotation in our political lexicon (everywhere other than Vermont...and now Seattle, I suppose).
Upton Sinclair figured this out a long time ago. He said that Americans will take socialism, but they won't take the label. He had run twice for office -- once as a Socialist, once as a Democrat -- on pretty much the exact same platform....faring a lot better with the D rather than the S.
Bernie Sanders has openly considered himself a socialist since long before there was a Fox News.
Frankly, I admire his truth in advertising. What you call poor marketing, I call refreshing candor in an era where it's far more fashionable to rely on poll-tested euphemisms that don't carry such a negative connotation.
