This article's been making the rounds a bit on social media this morning and I know a few of us can relate.

At some point it became very evident to most that Indiana's lack of football success is much more about culture than coaching. Yet, even with the perpetual disappointment, IU football grabs hold and adheres to so many of us like a Louisiana leech. Although he was fired, Mallory had two sons return to be assistant coaches at IU. Danny Cameron, the son of the fired IU coach, plays quarterback for the Hoosiers today. At how many places do children return to the site of their dad's flogging?

There remains something special about the ineptitude of IU football. If you are all-in on something that's been so poor for so long what despair can't you face? You can't possibly be let down. You must have some type of cruel pride to continue to cheer for a program that wins just slightly more than the Washington Generals.
