Another positive--no errors. Sowers had a very good game going 3 for 5**

And not just a single...

a blast to the wall in right center! Would have cleared the bases. A much needed relief after a miserable week.

You're welcome, jb17.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Logan Sowers belted a game-winning RBI single to right centerfield for Indiana's fourth walk-off win of the season as the Hoosiers opened their series with a 4-3 win vs. Rutgers on Friday evening at Bart Kaufman Field.

Indiana loaded the bases in the bottom of the ninth inning with one out, setting up the emphatic finish. Casey Rodrigue and Brad Hartong were each hit by pitch to lead off the frame and after Craig Dedelow's groundout advanced runners into scoring position, Scott Donley was intentionally walked to load the bases.

Facing a full count in front of a raucous crowd, Sowers delivered, allowing Rodrigue to come home and the Hoosiers to start the weekend on the right foot.

Luke Harrison earned the win (4-0), pitching the final two innings and accounting for two of Indiana's 10 strikeouts, marking the 11th time IU has reached double figures. Starting LHP Caleb Baragar tallied six of those in the first six innings.

Sowers led the Hoosiers with three hits, while Austin Cangelosi and Rodrigue each had a pair.

Cangelosi played a role in Indiana's first three runs, posting a RBI double in the second, scoring IU's tying run in the fifth and belting a sacrifice fly to centerfield in the sixth with bases loaded to give the Hoosiers a 3-2 edge.

The Scarlet Knights tied the game in the top of the eighth on a RBI triple.

The Hoosiers got on the board first in the bottom of the second, thanks to a single from Sowers and a RBI double from Cangelosi to take an early 1-0 lead.

Freshman Colby Stratten earned his first career start when he followed up with an RBI double to bring home Cangelosi and tie the game at two in the bottom of the fifth.
