University of California coaches will have financial incentives based on athletes' classroom performance under a new policy. It applies to new coaches and coaches that renew their contracts.

It won't apply to Alford, unless he renews, but if it did Alford would make $165,000 more than the $105,000 he collected in bonuses last year per article.
