CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -- Indiana lost its second game of a three-game series at No. 11 Illinois, 6-3, on Saturday afternoon at Illinois Field.

IU continued its hot streak in first innings, scoring in the opening frame for the sixth straight game.

Brad Hartong to reach second.

Scott Donley extended his hit streak to 13 games, matching the longest by a Hoosier this season, on a RBI double that scored Hartong for a 2-0 Indiana lead.

All nine combined runs were scored in the first and sixth innings, with Illinois doubling IU's tally and scoring all of its runs with two outs each time.

Starting RHP Jake Kelzer quickly sent the first two Illini batters back to the dugout before back-to-back walks set up four UI runs on two singles and a triple.

Kelzer settled down to retire nine of the next 12 batters, getting IU through four innings with the same 4-2 deficit, giving up just two hits in that span.

Dedelow singled and scored again in the sixth inning on a RBI single from Austin Cangelosi, pulling the Hoosiers within a 4-3 score.

But the home team would respond again with two outs on the board.

Illinois singled and walked before a double and a error in the outfield on the same play allowed two to score.

The Hoosiers only managed one hit the rest of the way as Illinois clinched the series.
