From HuffPost:

Twelve-year-old Mathew Flores asked his mailman, Ron Lynch, if he had any extra junk mail he could have. The mailman, thinking it an odd request, asked him why. The boy informed him that he loved to read, but his family couldn't afford books, so he read the advertisements. The mailman asked why he didn't go to the library, and the boy replied they had no car and couldn't afford bus fare.

Heartbroken, the mailman asked his Facebook friends to help, it went viral, and a short while later, he was delivering literally hundreds of donated books to the kid, from all over the world, who promptly promised to read every one of them and share them with other kids, as well. The mailman and the kid are going to now team up to run a book drive to help other youngsters who want to read, but don't have the means.
