Donley Double Keeps Indiana Alive
Hoosiers score three in eighth inning on Scott Donley's double to advance in B1G Tournament

MINNEAPOLIS -- Indiana eliminated Ohio State and stayed alive in the 2015 Big Ten Tournament with a 5-3 win Thursday morning at Target Field.

Indiana loaded the bases in the bottom of the eighth inning with two outs already on the board and Scott Donley cleared them all with a game-winning 3-RBI double to left center to give the Hoosiers a 5-2 lead.

The win advances the Hoosiers to Friday's elimination game at 4:30 p.m. ET against the loser of No. 2 Iowa and No. 3 Michigan. The Hawkeyes and Wolverines face off Thursday at 6 p.m. ET on the Big Ten Network.

OSU tallied a lead-off solo home run in the top of the ninth, but IU's all-time saves leader Ryan Halstead retired the next three batters and earned his 10th of the season, keeping IU in Minneapolis for another day.

Austin Cangelosi scored in the next inning to put IU ahead 2-0 after reaching on a lead-off walk, advancing to second on Will Nolden's sacrifice bunt and scoring on Brian Wilhite's RBI single.

RHP Scott Effross, who earned his fourth win of the year (4-4), entered the game with a 2-0 lead in the seventh.

Ohio State evened the score, 2-2, in the top of the seventh frame with a ground out RBI and a two-out RBI single, but Effross wouldn't allow any more damage, sitting down four straight Buckeyes after the tying hit.
